Our weather seems finally to have settled into a more normal summer rhythm of warmer nights and clear sunny days. The unpredictable start to the season has been gone for a few days now. This morning we have the usual calm seas, clear blue skies and ‘visible’ summer humidity that obscures the mainland for much of the time.
Yesterday was very much the same with that cooling afternoon breeze that is so welcome after a couple of hours in the sun. The temperature rose yesterday to 26.7°C, possibly cooler than many ‘Corfu’ forecasts would lead you to believe, but then Roda does have this benefit. Overnight, the temperature went no lower than 20.5°C.
The humidity yesterday varied between 73%, and 47% and the dewpoint seemed to stay within comfortable limits.
The temperature at 10:00 this morning, Monday June 6th, is currently 23.7°C, with the humidity standing at 72%.
The UV is high again at 9, and this is the same across the island, whatever temperature it is in each resort. The dewpoint at one weather station is showing 21°C at the moment, which is edging us into that ‘clammy’ zone. We’ll see later …

Good morning from a sunny Roda. Summer has finally found its feet, the unsteadiness of June is gone, so these reports may get a bit monotonous. We have clear blue skies, a gentle breeze and a heat haze, so Albania is just a smudge and the hills behind us are indistinct. Yesterday was beautiful all day, with the usual sea breeze in the afternoon providing some relief. The evening was very warm with the temperature at 11.40pm a balmy 25.1oC.
The temperature at 9.20am on 7th July is 24.7oC and the humidity 66% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 27.8oC and the minimum 20.5oC, the maximum humidity was 73% and the minimum 47%. The reported UV for today is 9 (Range 1- 11) So slap on that sun screen, that sun burns!

Good morning from a sunny Roda. We have, surprise surprise, clear blue skies, sunshine, a gentle breeze, and calm seas. The usual heat haze is about, obscuring the hills behind us and the mountains of Albania. Yesterday was glorious, hot and sunny all day with a cooling breeze mid afternoon. A very few clouds developed early evening to give a wonderful sunset. The heat lasted into the evening, giving us 36.5oC in the sun at 8pm and 26oC at 11pm followed by a hot and sticky night. Looking around the weather stations in the north of the island the coastal resorts are only varying by a degree or two, but the difference in land can be as much as plus 6oC!
Today's readings at 9.30am on 8th July are:- Temperature 25.2oC and humidity 68% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 28.3oC and the minimum 21.1oC, the maximum humidity was 73% and the minimum 52% The reported UV for today is 9 (Range 1- 11), so lots of sunscreen and a hat if possible.

This is a great idea!! I will check this page everyday. Very useful So pleased you like the weather posts, we do it to help people back in the UK to know what it is like here in Roda and plan accordingly. Maybe even to gently push them into holidaying here if they are undecided. Eventually we will have a lot of data we can call on to answer any weather related enquiries we get.

Good morning from a slightly cloudy Roda. The sun is peeping out from behind a small but stubborn cloud as there is no wind to move it along. So here we are with some clouds, no wind, and the usual heat haze. The sun will burn off the clouds as the day progresses. Yesterday was hot and sunny, and the heat lasted well into the night with the temperature in the sun in the early evening 36oC, it was still 27oC at 10.30pm and 25oC at midnight, and 22oC at dawn! The dew point is high at around 22o, this makes it feel uncomfortable and sticky, but if you get in the afternoon breeze by the sea it is still very pleasant. A dip in the sea or pool will refresh you. The real feel of the temperature is several degrees higher than the true temperature due in part to this high dew point.
Today's readings on 9th July at 9.30am are:- Temperature 26oC and humidity 60% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 29.5oC and the minimum 21.0oC, the maximum humidity was 73% and the minimum 53% The reported UV for today is 9 (Range 1- 11), so don't forget the sunscreen. The UV by late afternoon is down to 4 or 5 (the maximum found in the UK) but probably the best time to sunbathe with care.

Good morning from a sunny Roda. We awoke to a complete covering of cloud which has completely burnt off by 10am. There is no wind and high humidity which means that Albania has disappeared and the hills behind us are thinking of joining her. Yesterday was lovely and hot and sunny all day, we had a sea breeze pick up in the afternoon, but the high dew point meant that it felt hot and sticky all day. A good excuse to stay near the pool or the sea for a cooling dip. The real feel of the temperature is about 5oC higher than the recorded temperature, and looking around the weather stations across the top half of Corfu there can be 4oC difference between the west and the east, with the east being the warmest. We had a very warm evening and night with the lowest temperature during the was 23oC at dawn.
The readings for today 10th July at 9.50am are:- Temperature 26.3oC and humidity 73% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 30.4oC and the minimum 22.2oC, the maximum humidity was 67% and the minimum 49% The reported UV for today is 8 (Range 1- 11) so please slap on that sunscreen.

Good morning from a hot and sunny Roda. Normal summer weather seems to have been restored after a temporary blip caused by a too early prediction by Steve! We have clear blue skies, a gentle breeze and quite a heat haze meaning Albania is barely there and our hills are only slightly more distinct. Yesterday was a mixed bag weather wise, we had periods of it being quite cloudy, with the Corfu hills being shrouded with clouds and having mist in the valleys, but then it would clear and the cloud base rise. The main feature of yesterday was the clamminess, the combined effects of the high humidity and the high dew point combined with the lack of and breeze made it uncomfortable for some. There was no reprieve during the night, it was still 28oC at 10pm, and still 23oC at dawn but with a high degree of humidity, it was a high 71% here but in some parts of Corfu it was up to 94%!! OK, during the day you can get some relief in the sea or pool, but it makes sleeping a bit uncomfortable unless on decides to kip in the kiddies pool. I am not a lover of aircon, but I might just have been persuaded last night. This morning feels a lot fresher and more comfortable than yesterday even though the readings are much the same. I am still trying to fully understand all the subtleties.
Today's readings at 9.45am on 11th July are:- Temperature 26.2oC and humidity 73% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 28.5oC and the minimum 23.1oC, the maximum humidity was 77% and the minimum 58% The reported UV for today is again 9 (Range 1 - 11) So please take care and use that sunscreen!

Good morning from a sunny Roda. We have blue skies a none existent wind and the haziness is back. Yesterday was a beautiful day, it started off with high humidity, but as the breeze picked up in the afternoon it drove the humidity down. So we had the strange event of a dawn humidity of 71% and by early evening it was 43%, a complete reversal of normal. The first time since I started this report that that was the case. It meant even though the temperatures were higher than the previous day, it felt so much fresher and even 'cooler' and hence more comfortable! By 8pm it was 37.2oC in the sun but with a humidity level of 44% it was such a lovely evening, and the Corfu hills just came back into sharp focus with a lovely clarity not often seen at this time of year. Albania as usual was doing its own thing, and remained just a form on the horizon. The day ended with a colourful but not spectacular sunset as there were no clouds.
Today's readings on 12th July at 9.45am are:- Temeprature 24.4oC and humidity 68% Yesterday's maximum temperature was 30.4oC and the minimum 22.5oC, the maximum humidity was 75% and the minimum 43% The reported UV for today is 9 (Range 1- 11) so Aussie rules apply. slip, slop, slap seek and slide ( slip on a shirt, slop on 30+ sun scream, slap on a hat, seek shade and slide on those sunnies)

High in the night sky, Venus & Jupiter keeps an eye on the colour gradient of Jan’s “lovely, but not spectacular” sunset yesterday.

WEATHER REPORT FOR JUNE 2015 Sorry this report is late but I have been away for a while and it took me some time to catch up with everything. All in all June wasn’t a bad month with the average maximum daytime temperature being 25.7oC with maximum being 29.6oC, the average night time temperature being 18.8oC with the lowest temperature being 16.1oC. We had a couple of rainy episodes at the beginning of the month. On the second there was a distant thunder storm which gave us a few spots of rain for about half an hour then five days later it rained in the village during the afternoon. Neither rain shower really was much to write home about.
