Good morning from Roda. We have blue skies and quite a lot of clouds, which are clearing slowly. The clouds are being blown onto the mountains behind us causing them to pile up in the valleys. Albania has its cap of clouds, but is otherwise fairly clear across the straits. There is a gusty wind which can feel a bit cool at times, but in the sun it is lovely. Yesterday was a bit of a damp squib. The morning progressed into ever more greyness and we had light rain showers from around mid- day onwards. The bars were constantly taking their cushions in and out. The showery weather continued into the evening, but it was mild which was some compensation and the wind had dropped completely. There were quite long gaps, enough for us to get to and from the village dry.
Today's readings at 10am on 12th October are:- Temperature 20.5°C (real feel 20°C) and humidity 75% (dew point 17°C, comfortable) Yesterday's maximum temperature was 25.5°C and the minimum was 20.9°C, the maximum humidity was 84% and the minimum 68% The reported UV for today is 4 (Range 1- 11) so, if sunbathing still use that sunscreen.

Good morning from Roda. We have brilliant blue skies with only the odd small white fluffy cloud. There is a slight breeze and amazing visibility across the sea to Albania. It looks like you can see every valley and tree. Our mountains are hazy, but I know they will clear as the day progresses. Yesterday afternoon, with the dying sun, the shadows across the foothills were beautiful sending every tree and valley into relief. It is cooler than it has been with the morning temperature so far barely reaching 20°C in the shade. But we still enjoyed our breakfast on our south balcony, it is warm in the sun. Yesterday was pleasant with good sunny spells, but it was quite breezy at times. The clouds cleared at night to give a beautiful starlit sky. The sea was amazing yesterday with big waves rolling in from the north, beautiful shades of blue and green topped with white spume with a back ground of crystal clear mountains in Albania. We just stood and stared, but way too rough for our swim.
Today's readings at 10am on 13th October are:- Temperature 18.7°C (real feel 19°C) and humidity 72% (dew point 14°C comfortable) Yesterday's maximum temperature was 22.0°C and the minimum was 19.3°C, the maximum humidity was 79% and the minimum 62% The reported UV for today is 4 (Range 1- 11) so, the same as yesterday, if sunbathing still use that sunscreen.

Good morning from Roda. We have blue skies and scattered clouds and hardly a breath of wind. This morning is very much cooler than we are used to, it was barely 14°C during the night. Think summer is all but over. Albania is standing in all her beauty opposite and our mountains are dark against the morning sky. Yesterday was a glorious day, wall to wall sunshine all day. OK it was just about into the 20's but still warm enough for a few sea swims, though you had to stay in the sun otherwise it was chilly. The sunset was pretty as there were no clouds, and the evening sky was a mass of stars, so pretty.
Today's readings at 10am on 14th October are:- Temperature 17.8°C (real feel 18°C) and humidity 72% (dew point 13°C, lots of wet grass in the morning) Yesterday's maximum temperature was 21.8°C and the minimum was 15.5°C, the maximum humidity was 73% and the minimum 61% The reported UV for today is 3 (Range 1- 11) Apply sunscreen if you start to feel that you are burning.

Good morning from Roda. We have sunshine and clouds and an gentle breeze. Albania and our mountains have lost the marvelous clarity that they had yesterday. Yesterday was a much nicer day than expected, by the afternoon most of the clouds had given way to hot sunshine, so we did the natural thing and went to the beach where we enjoyed 4/5 sea swims. We think the expected UV of 3 was a little out as it was definitely hot. The beach was busier than we had seen it in September, which is good to see, and there were many walkers exploring the coastal paths. The sea though is definitely getting cooler by the day. There was the obligatory gorgeous sunset and starlit night, which was milder than the previous night when the temperature had got down to a low 14°C. The wild flowers and plants seem to be springing up everywhere after the recent rains, and with them the butterflies. It is normal for us amateurs to see five or six different varieties in a walk of a few yards.
Today's readings at 10am on 15th October are:- Temperature 20.2°C (real feel 22°C) and humidity 74% (dew point 15°C giving us wet grass in the morning) Yesterday's maximum temperature was 24.6°C and the minimum was 13.9°C, the maximum humidity was 74% and the minimum 56% The reported UV is 4 (Range 1- 11) so please use that sunscreen, that sun is still hot.

Good morning from Roda. For the first time in a long while I have to report it is dreich (Scottish for wet and miserable and overcast), though of course it is much warmer. It is mostly calm, but we are getting the odd strong gust. The forecasts generally say it is going to be the same all day, though staying warm. Yesterday started off promising but it got increasingly cloudy as the afternoon progressed. The high winds that were forecast didn't appear, until the evening and they came with the rain. It was pleasant enough to enjoy a few swims in the sea, but the last one was a bit chilly getting out. We were not the only idiots there, and there was even a trio of friends wild camping in a tent at the top of the beach. It was good weather for walkers are we saw quite a few walking along the coastal paths. Any way back to the weather, we are supposed to get more thunderstorms over the next few days, the radar is a bit ominous.
Today's readings at 10am on 16th October are:- Temperature 19.1°C (real feel 19°C) and humidity 80% (dew point 16°C) Yesterday's maximum temperature was 24.7°C and the minimum was 16.6°C, the maximum humidity was 77% and the minimum 61% The reported UV for today is 3 (Range 1- 11) not that I think anyone will be sunbathing in this rain.

Good morning from Roda. We have almost complete cloud cover, just one or two breaks for the sun the peep through, and it is brightening up. There was a short heavy downpour round about 9.30am and we have steady drizzle now. The clouds are filling the top valleys behind us and the Albanian mountains are hiding in the mist and gloom. There is practically no wind and it is mild enough to have the door open. Yesterday was wet and rainy all morning, but it did clear during the afternoon, so we got in and out of the village dry. The wet weather returned in the evening with some strong gusts of wind.
Today's readings at 10am on 17th October are:- Temperature 20.6°C (real feel 21°C) and humidity 86% (dew point an almost humid 19°C) Yesterday's maximum temperature was 22.8°C and the minimum was 18.4°C, the maximum humidity was 84% and the minimum 69% The reported UV for today is 3 (Range 1 -11), don't think anyone will be sunbathing today.

Good morning from Roda. We have a powder blue sky with scattered white clouds, though there are a few caught up on the peaks of the mountains behind us. There is practically no wind so the haze is hiding Albania. It feels very warm in the sun. Yesterday morning was not that good in that we had a brief downpour followed by steady drizzle which died away by late morning. The afternoon just got better as it progressed so by early evening it was beautiful. It was still just warm enough for a couple of sea swims, and a hardy cicada was still chirping away in the evening. The wet weather combined with the gentle warmth we have at the moment has caused a burst of growth in the plants and wild flowers. The coastal path from Almyros goes through drifts of bright yellow coltsfoot type flowers and the cyclamen are almost buried in the dense foliage of milk thistle and others I don't know.
Today's readings at 10am on 18th October are:- Temperature 20.8°C (real feel 21) and humidity 85% (dew point almost humid at 19°C) Yesterday's maximum temperature was 24.7°C and the minimum was 18.4°C, the maximum humidity was 86% and the minimum 74% The reported UV for today is 3 (Range 1- 11) apply that sunscreen to stop the burn. Despite what I thought yesterday I expect some people did manage to fit in some sunbathing around sheltered pools.

Good morning from Roda. All the forecasts I check, and there are around four or five, were in agreement that today was going to be clear and very sunny. Well we awoke to grey skies and soon the drenching downpour started. The mountain valleys behind us were filled with clouds and mist and Albania was just a memory. The only good point was that it was very mild. OK the rain has now stopped and it is brightening up, so we may see that sun. It was also a very mild night with the temperature only dropping to 19°C. Yesterday remained cloudy with some sunny spells which enabled us to get a couple of sea swims in. The complete cloud cover did chase us away from the beach, but by the time we got home the cloud was breaking up to give us a nice late afternoon and a lovely clear mild evening. It was 22°C at 8pm and still 20°C at midnight, and with no wind it felt very mild indeed. Can't complain about that for this time of year, we were reminiscing about huddling round garden heaters in Roda Park around this time three years ago, as the evenings were chilly but the daytime was lovely. Every day now there are more and more flowers and greenery as the heat of the summer is passed and they take advantage of the warm wetter days. It is lovely to walk along the coast to enjoy the plants and the late flush of butterflies.
Today's readings at 10am om 19th October are:- Temperature 20.1°C (real feel 20°C) and humidity 86% (dew point 18°C comfortable) Yesterday's maximum temperature was 25.7°C and the minimum was 18.7°C, the maximum humidity was 86% and the minimum 71% The reported UV for today is 4 (Range 1- 11) If the sun does break through apply the sunscreen. It can catch you out at this time of year.

Hi, janiemou, I love your weather reports although it really makes me long to be there Thank you Maudy, I am enjoying doing them, and will continue when I am here. I will still try and post something when away from the island as I now have some reliable information I can follow. Corfu is lovely out of season, and because we are so close to the sea the weather is very much an unavoidable part of every day. The huge open vistas of the sea and the mountains constantly changing. Even the heavy rain can bring delight with mist clinging to unknown valleys giving a depth previously unseen. At the moment we have clear blue skies and very warm sunshine to enjoy with our breakfast on the balcony.

Good morning from Roda. We have clear blue skies, negligible wind and brilliant sunshine. We were supposed to have rain, but recently the weather forecasts for the island have been all over the place with no two agreeing to any extent. We have had rain when none was promised and sun when it should have been raining. Very difficult to know when to do the washing because the weather may have changed for the worse by the time it is finished! We had a heavy rain shower in the morning yesterday which petered out into drizzle and by the afternoon it was very pleasant with very little wind. There were very calm seas which were lovely to swim in, not sure why it was warmer than the day before. We got chased off the beach by encroaching clouds which had thinned by the time we got home to give a pleasant mild evening with the temperature 20°C at midnight.
Today's readings at 10am on 20th October are:- Temperature 19.9°C (real feel 20°C) and humidity 85% (dew point 17°C pleasant) Yesterday's maximum temperature was 24.9°C and the minimum was 19°C, the maximum humidity was 87% and the minimum 73%
The reported UV for today is 4 (range 1- 11) So if sunbathing be sensible and use sunscreen.

Good morning from Roda. We have lovely blue skies, sunshine and only the merest of breezes. There are some thin high clouds around, and Albania has emerged from across the channel with its usual cap of thick cloud. It is a much better start to the day than was forecast. We are supposed to be experiencing rain and thunder storms at the moment, but that has changed to this afternoon. We are still experiencing high humidity which, according to my dew point calculator means it only takes six days for mould to appear if it stays the same. We combat this by having doors and windows open nearly 24/7, and it is working so far. It is strange having these long periods of high humidity and not feeling it and being rarely uncomfortable. Yesterday continued very nice until mid afternoon when the clouds started coming in and drove us from the beach after several very enjoyable swims. It was very surreal for a time on the beach as the sea was flat calm, but the high humidity was causing a low sea mist which closed in on us. The colours were amazing, but the mist dispersed with the afternoon sea breeze and we were back to normal. The rain started by early evening and continued off and on for the rest of the night.
Today's readings at 10am on 21st October are:- Temperature 19.7°C (real feel 20°C) and humidity 85% (dew point 17°C comfortable) Yesterday's maximum temperature was 23.8°C and the minimum was 17.5°C ,the maximum humidity was 85% and the minimum 78%.
The reported UV for today is 3 (range 1- 11), if sunbathing today still put on the sunscreen.

Good morning from Roda. We were wakened by a massive thunderstorm overhead at around 6am. The thunder and lightning were tremendous. Steve leapt out of bed to disconnect the computers and shut the bathroom window. When we did get out of bed I had to dry off the bathroom floor as it had rained in. What was weird though, was that all three exposed sides of the apartment had been caught. The north balcony was wet for its whole length and the shield protecting our outside sensor, which is attached to the side of the cabinet away from the sea, got soaked. The west facing bathroom got wet, and the south facing balcony plants are doing breast stroke to keep afloat! Usually rain only come from one direction. It was still raining heavily as I took the readings but the sun is trying to peak through. The clouds are down over the foothills, which is the lowest I have ever seen them and Albania is lurking amidst the clouds and rain. So saying that, it is mild and we have the doors and windows open again. Yesterday started off well but the clouds started building up around lunch time, to give us showers by the evening. Though it did have some lighter moments when we sat outside for a late lunch.
Today's readings at 10am on 22nd October are:- Temperature 19.3°C (real feel 19°C) and humidity 91% (dew point 18°C nice) Though the chart says it would only take 4 days for mould to appear! Yesterday's maximum temperature was 22.9°C and the minimum was 18.1°C, the maximum humidity was 85% and the minimum 75%
The reported UV for today is 2 (Range 1- 11) But don't think anyone will be sunbathing today!

Good morning from Roda. The rain and bad weather seem to have gone for now. We awoke to blue skies, sunshine and thin high clouds. Albania is beautifully clear across the channel, our hills and mountains look dark, but I think that is because they have the sun behind them. It feels warm in the sun and there is very little breeze as well. Yesterday the clouds stayed down on the foothills for a long time and we had long periods of rain and showers that eased as the day progressed. There was still the occasional light rain during the evening , but that died away by midnight. It was a lovely walk back from the village along the sea front with the lights around the bay playing on the rough seas. Water and the sea grass were dashing against the wall so we kept as far away as possible. It still felt quite mild. Now so many places have closed there are definitely less lights to see. Though I know that Roda and nearby Acharavi still have enough places open for an enjoyable evening.
Today's readings at 10am on 23rd October are:- Temperature 16.7°C (real feel 17°C) and humidity 89 (dew point 16°C). Only 4 days to mould! Yesterday's maximum temperature was 20.5°C and the minimum was 16.5°C, the maximum humidity was 94% and the minimum 80%
The reported UV for today is 4 (range 1- 11) If you find a sun trap apply sunscreen just in case.
