Tomorrow is the second largest religious festival in the Orthodox Church, after Easter. Epiphany, or Theophany, is a national holiday here but I'm not sure you could throw a cross into these waves, and it would be a reckless young man who dived in after it. I think we may have floated off overnight and entered the Baltic!

I seen video footage of the water blessing & the cross jumping at Kassiopi. Would love to see it for real.

Hi, there seemed to be a several events round the island, Kassiopi, Paliokastrista, Gouvia marina to name a few. They all seemed to kick off at same time around 10.45 following a service at the local church. It was mentioned locally that there was something at Sidari as well, but no idea of the time. Have made a note in my diary for next year as we fancy Kassiopi.

We had a choice Kassiopi mentioned by Stacey and Sidari mentioned by Pete we chose the later and it didn't happen mind you it was blowing a severe gale, So next year it will be Kassiopi as I think the young lads there must either be a tad braver or have no fear well done lads
