It must have been the same in the UK when our parents were young, but we are constantly watching clouds of meadow brown butterflies in the trees and fields around Roda. It's probably the abundance of meadow grass that makes it so prolific. This male was sitting on vines this morning while the insect eating little owl was not far away.

Don't you just love Nature....I do......I picked up a Blackbirds egg...it was missing half it's shell and the chick inside was still breathing, so I have it wrapped in cotton wool in a eggbox but I'm not sure it will survive...........Another great pic from you Steve, your eyesight is getting better !!

Magpies don't only pinch birds eggs and chicks they came one day and pinched 2 of my Koi fish and they were pretty big fish. Not one of my favourite birds.

Awww kaz I had baby birds on my nightshift to feed and make sure they were kept warm. The were too cute. Let me know how your baby does. X x
