One of the first steps in modernising Greece's regional airports, including Corfu, will be the introduction, through WiFi technology, of free internet access within the vicinity of the airport.

The times they are a changing ! Like many of our regulars i can remember when the airport was little more than a shed, i still smile when i recall my first thoughts upon landing - "where the hell have i come to ?" There must have been something about it though because i've not been anywhere else since. pete.

I know what you mean about the old airport, do you remember being loaded into the articulated trailer to get you to the terminal a bit like a cattle truck with windows. Although I do miss sitting on the roof terrace while waiting for the flight.

I agree, Alan, some sort of outside terrace would be really good, particularly a rooftop one. I think there's a big opportunity being missed. Spending your last few euros on a beer or coffee, sitting out in the sun, would provide a few more minutes of atmosphere before flying home to our normal routines - even delays would be more pleasant!

The old roof terrace was great, especially during the Airtours regular 4 hour delays. pete.

We used to use it while waiting for our Dan Dare flight, that was usually delayed as well.

Steve We use the seating outside departures to catch our last bit of Corfu sun & leave going through to the departure "lounge" till the last minute. As you say Steve a roof terrace now would be ideal, who wants to sit inside & miss all that lovely sunshine.
