Seriously considering moving to Corfu next year.
Looking to buy a property and a business in Roda.
Would I get a decent House/Villa with pool for £250,000?
I've seen that the Chinese restaurant is up for sale with 4 apartments above. The asking price is 650,000 Euros!!!!! or 20,000 Yearly lease with 100,000 euro deposit!
I would not be looking to open a restaurant just a bar or a bar with adjoining land.
Any info/tips would be welcome, particularly info on property prices, typical yearly lease rates, locations near to Roda, Platonas? etc
Cheers
Tony (uptonogood)

Hi Tony, We still don't understand why you can't sign in yet - however, it is just possible to buy a house & pool at about that price, especially as the market does, to some extent, respond to 'supply & demand'. Speak to Tassos at Dreamlands (see link on our home page) and talk to Lisa at Corfu Forward Planning on www.cfp.gr . Let us know by email what you are looking for business-wise and we may be able to help. One thing I would say is that the mix of tourists is changing and, with six English bars in the village this year, it is slightly out of sync. with demand. We still believe that there is potential for someone with a bright idea, and the fact that some bars will close, will create opportunities. At the moment, we believe that the Roda tavern is available and, by the end of February, Benny's might be also. These are rented, and actually buying a bar might be more difficult. ontact also www.corfucypria.com - the people who refurbished the new shops - who knows what they may have? Hope this helps a little Steve

Just a thought, Tony, - Cypria Developments have started the next phase of houses up the lane beyond Spiros No 1. I don't know what they charge but you now have their web address. They certainly build houses with swimming pools, but prices seem to vary wildly. Also, if you go along the road towards Corfu Town, just out of Roda beyond Roda Camping, there are some old polythene greenhouses. We believe that the site will be redeveloped by Ferohouses and the sign is up to that effect. Contact them on www.ferohouse.com. We don't know what they do, but it may help. Steve
