Hi All, We have booked to stay in Roda for a week in July and I am just trying to gather as much information as possible! Looking for a lovely beach to visit which is not to far from Roda and came across Astrakeri. Can anyone tell me if its walkable from Roda? And easy to find? Also - any other recommendations for a picturesque beach nearby. We stayed in Agios Gordios last year but because we are bringing friends chose Roda as its a little busier..... Look forward to your responses. Oh we are staying at Ninos on the Beach.

Hi Julie - yes, you can walk to Astrakeri and most of the walk is on level ground. I would say you should allow up to an hour, but that is taking it easy and a lot of it is through shady olive groves. If you need directions, please ask.
You could also go east from Nino's and walk as far as you can along the seafront, then take to the beach, and continue as far as you want along St Geaorge's Bay. Some stretches are pebbly, but there are sections of sand too, especially as you get further along towards Almiros.
The shortest one might be Golden Sand, smaller, but just ten minutes out of the village.
