Due to lack of sales Olympic have canceled my Glasgow flight on June 13th and I have been transferred to the Newcastle flight. I am gutted we live 5 mins away from the airport and will need to re think our travel plans. Its not the end of the world but it shows how bad the economy is just now, they can't fill a Glasgow flight and also the Newcastle one isn't full either. Now need to think how to get to Newcastle, is it car (X2), bus, train or a 7 seater taxi. I hope no one else experiences this. xx

I think it's TC that's cancelled the flight - think that's who you'd have been flying with. It's total rubbish! I'm just glad that you're getting to Roda somehow - it's just terrible that you have to go to a different country to fly there!

On TC's website that flight is off entirely, but I've just looked at booking a holiday to Roda, through Olympic & they're still saying the flight is available (With TC....)

If you try booking through the TC site, it should be there - it was when I tried earlier. There really is something strange going on....

Boydies, this is a blo..y disgrace !! We're flying from Newcastle on 23rd May ( booked Olympic ... flying Jet 2 ). It's cheaper and easier for us to fly from Newcastle than it is to fly from Glasgow !!! I totally understand your anger and disappointment !! If I lived 10 mins from the Airport I'd be fizzin too !! Will your travel Insurance cover the cost of getting to Newcastle and back ? Approach Olympic initally as flights from Newcastle are cheaper than flights from Glasgow !! Travel from Paisley to Newcastle quite easy. Check-out 'East Coast Trains'. They do direct trains to Newcastle from Glasgow Central, On arrival at Newcastle you can get the 'Metro' direct to the Airport, ( it's about 10 mins ) and you're right in the Airport. Please PM me for any more info ( or E mail ...address on my Profile ) Depending on Flight times it could work out much cheaper than car/bus/taxi, but I still feel that Olympic should cover any extra cost to your holiday !! Don't let this deter you from going on your hols ....... hope to hear from you with good news ... Johno

They're being compensated (not enough in our opinion) & getting the supplement back from them.

Hi, as Johno said above you can get from Newcastle Central Station to the Airport very easily using the Metro (they are regular - every 15mins or so) but I would say a journey time of 10mins is very optimistic - I would say closer to 25mins+ if you are trying to fit to a schedule etc.
regards, Kath.

Terrible news about your flight boydies. We have purchased a package holiday this year, also through Olympic holidays. Originally our flight was with Thomas Cook. However, on my last check the flight has now been changed to what I understand to be a Greek airline, I think?... GSW is the reference on the flight? I am now wondering if this will be the case with our holidays in August? ?

This is a nightmare & very unfair! Don't know if this helps but I use www.skyscanner.net/ to keep update with flights and seats ect also to find cheapest days to fly on, as you can view flights for the whole month or year!

Thanks to you all for your information, it's been great. There is 5 of us, which includes a 5 year old so we are trying to make the additional travel as easy as poss. The taxi driver who was taking us to Glasgow Airport has a 7 seater and is willing to drive us to Newcastle and pick us back up. We will be travelling with Jet2. I have tried TC flights from both airports and there is none for that day.

if possible for you to fly to amsterdam airport or even to dusseldorf international airport germany, you could try to find a flight from holland or germany to corfu, using Arkefly or AirBerlin or Condor. but possibly a lot more expensive I am afraid....might even be cheaper to fly from UK to Athens and then to Corfu
