We really cant decide where to stay for our week in Sep, we usually stay at the Pegasus, and may end up back there (We like it there but thought we may try elsewhere as we will of done two weeks there this year already, and plus we are thinking of doing self cater as oppose to B and B)
Thought we would have a look around some of the other complexs whilst in Roda next month then book upon our return.
Anyone got any recommendations? I know there are lots to chose from, the only other hotel I have stayed at in Roda before was Silver Beach, it was ok but much prefer Pegasus.
So far we have a "short list"of Makis, Theodores, and Blue Gardens (though havent a clue where they are but they score very well on Trip Advisor).
Part of me is leaning towards Makis as I remember all the wasps in September (when I stayed at Silver Beach), and thought whilst there will still be some, being near the beach may mean there's a few less?
Nick likes a tv, not to watch as such, just to listen to wilst he doses off at night.
Only other requirements are a safe and balcony, and air con to hite should we require it.
Any recommendations much appreciated.

Hi becksj we always use Kosmas, they are further on from the Pegasus. You can only book through Olympic. You will get a balcony, a safe with nominal fee, air conditioning for a price but no TV in room Some say beds are too hard and is noisy. Well it is basic accomdation so beds aren't posh and only twins. You can hear everyone push their beds together at night. Noise has never troubled us, we found it worse when we spent our first year at the Aphrodite. The welcome is friendly, the family lovely, the pool huge, the view fantastic (it is inland). Best recommendation, they get a lot of return business. Hope this helps. Bev.

Hi Becky, you could ask 20 regular forum members where they would recommend & get 20 different answers, everyone has their own favourite, the questions you need to answer are - is a pool important to you, do you want food available on the premises, a bar on site, in the center of the village or more outside, do you want basic or a bit more comfort ? Have a look through "Roda pages" on the main website, there are lots of premises on there. Have a good look around in May, the owners are usually knocking around & will be pleased to show you around. pete.

Becksy - Look no further than Pipitsa's apartments, just behind the Roda Park less than 100 metres from the Silver Beach. I promise you that you will not find more comfortable in Roda or even Corfu. Pipitsa has TV, DVD, Internet link, washing machine, microwave and everything else that you would not normally expect in Greece. Deep mattresses on the beds which makes a huge difference. (Sleeping I mean) Put all this together with her kindness and you could not wish for a better place to stay in Roda. We will be staying ther in 3 weeks time, again in July and yet again in October. That's how good Pipitsa's apartments are - they make you want to return again and again.

PS Becksy - Pipitsa has Air-Con included in the price and safety boxes and a balcony with sunbeds. What more could you ask for.

Makis has televisions for this season & air-con added last year. And balconies (or terrace). Swimming pool, snack bar, bar, safety deposits. And the family are lovely - one of the reasons I return year after year. I even fly from Manchester to make sure I can go there again.

Hi Becky
As Pete says above, you need to decide on a few things that are important to you - but I can speak for the Theodorus - their apartments do have air-con, safety deposit boxes, a fantastic swimming pool (the best in Roda in my opinion) and a great bar that serves food and snacks. If I remember rightly they do have TVs. When you turn left at main crossroads they are down the lane directly opposite Compass Restaurant (Pixeida) signposted Beach/Harbour about couple of hundred yards - so are not far from the centre of Roda (about a 5 minute walk - if that). Theo will make you very welcome - but as you know, everyone in Roda will do that.
regards, Kath.

Hi Becks - I think you might find that Makis is full for September - unless he gets cancellations. There are lots of others to choose from - maybe we can talk about them when you come here on your first visit. Blue Gardens is over the bridge by the Aphrodite, and about 1/3 mile along that road by Spiros No1.
As for the wasps in September - if you can, you should try to ignore them - they are not aggressive and far more interested in grapes than they are in you. Try to stay calm and they will ignore you.

Hi Becky
I have stayed at the Blue Gardens in September a few years back, the accommodation is lovely and the family that run it were fab, they couldn't do enough for my family. They have a great pool, put on films, footie etc. The only two faults I had was the wasps and they are situated just outside the main part of Roda (up past the taxi rank), it was a nice walk during the day but at night the walk back could be a bit scary with the traffic, we got a taxi back most nights. Going back to Theodore's for the third year in June, great staff, great pool, great accom, great bar food, it can be noisy at night but i don't forget to pack my ear plugs (they work wonders). We always give Makis a visit and spend every other day there as the family are lovely and have a great pool and are also so close to the beach. Sorry, I have went on a bit but have a good look around as everyone does have there own taste and what bothered us might not bother you. enjoy your stay next month. xx
Susan. xx

Thanks everyone for your tips - we have just booked Makis via Monarch Hotels (they still had vacancies), we thought as it seems so popular, and its only a week, it was worth giving as go.
