Waited with baited breathe tonight, when I heard them discussing EasyJet's new Scottish routes, on the radio this evening. Was miffed tho, when they announced none of them are to Corfu. However, from September this year, they're flying Edinburgh to Athens. I see this as a step in the right direction from them! Maybe sometime in the near future....

I think Athens is emerging as a bit of hub for international flights, Jackie and certainly, if you can get a good connection to Corfu, there are some good prices. Takes valuable hours away unfortunately. There a lot of transerring passengers on Aegean flights who would possibly fill a direct weekly flight to the UK throughout the winter. Better news for Scotland though.

Fingers crossed for you Jackie, they flew from Gatwick for at least a year before they added Manchester & then Bristol so hopefully in time they will come good for you & the rest of our Scots visitors. pete.

Well, that's the thing. I wouldn't mind if they added Corfu to their Edinburgh route - at least it's only an hour away, instead of having to come to Manchester. Cross everything, for next year, for us!

Interestingly Jackie - Brian Potter, managing director of Glasgow-based Clyde Travel Management, has said that travel agents in Scotland are desperate for new air capacity at the country’s airports and Glasgow airport will lose 400,000 seats annually when British Midland International withdraws its Heathrow service on March 31. Since the demise of Globespan, there are many free slots at Scottish airports which nobody is taking up.

I read a message about flights from Athens to Kerkyra/Corfu airport: Starting 27th of March (till 29th of October) Olympic will fly every day at 8.55 am, 14.35 (leaving from Athens) and 10.25 am and 16.05 (leaving from Corfu). Price for economy class about 90 euros. Aegean will fly every day 5.30 am, 11.40 am and 17.50 (leaving Athens)
