Aw people, this is so funny! The picture is a little blurry, but yes I do believe, from a glance, it very much looks like him. I genuinely only decided last night for the first time to have a look. I cannot believe if it is him, I found him so easy. Thanks so much everyone, this really has made me smile. I did tap the name in Nikos Aspiotis on Facebook last night, but didn't show any results that looked like him. So I wouldn't know how to look on fb to find him if that makes sense Nikki, only to look at any clearer photo's. I wouldn't contact a married man. I worked in a bar whilst on holidays (it may have been the drunken sailor) That's how poor my memory is, I'm only 34 what's my excuse? I know the owners of the bar (1995) the owners were a greek man and an english lady, her name may have been Michelle? & there was another young English girl working in the bar, I think her name was Claire? There was an older friendly Welsh gentleman who lived there and worked on the beach who was I think originally from Aberdare, in South Wales, a stones throw away from me. He had some connection to Aberdare anyway, maybe that was where his wife was from? I can't remember now. I just know that was the best holiday ever had, with really fond memories. The ones when you are a teenager usually are. I am so, so grateful for all of your help and input. I've never been back to Roda, was such a lovely place x

Hahaha Pete, I would love to find some pics back from the 1995 time period, now that would be fab!!!... I'm sure I will venture here again one day, it's something I have always wanted to do. I have three little ones under the age of 5, so somehow the whole experience wouldn't be the same. Joys of motherhood! Where is the nicest hotel in the area these days? I would need something with lot's going on for the kids and a little bit of luxury for us grown-ups...does such a place exist?

Both The Pegasus & The Coral Hotels have recently been refurbished to a good standard but as far as I know there is nothing organised going on for children, that said, the beach is very safe for younger ones with a very gentle slope into the sea, there is a large bouncy castle & ball pond at Nemo's bar to keep them occupied, lots of the hotels & apartment blocks have kiddies sections of the pools as well, wherever you might choose both yourself and the kids will be made more than welcome & you'll be surprised how many of the local will still remember you after all these years. pete.

The Coral is perhaps more suitable for adults, but Pegasus does have extensive gardens around the pool area and Tropicana, with it's excellent play area, is just a miinute away. Also, right opposite Nemo, is the Afroditi Hotel, and what about Theodoros, which is very popular with families?

I doubt anyone will remember me, I was only there a fortnight, maybe 10 years ago, but not now, ten years too late sadly. It's funny how you think you can't remember much, but slowly today little things are coming back. Thanks for both your advice on the options of where to stay, When's the best time of year to visit? I don't remember Nikos' brother, is he older or younger? I typed on Youtube.. Greek dancing Roda and a video came up of them dancing at Smiley's. Modern technology is amazing I would never have found out anything if I hadn't stumbled across this page and the thought would have passed. But instead I feel like I've been in a time machine today x

For those of us who live here, Shel, the best time to visit is between January & December! Any less than that is simply not worth it ... Such a lot depends on what you want - guaranteed sunshine, high temperatures, spring flowers, autumn sunsets ... you name it, we've got it!

His brother is called Kostas and I think he's older. Nikos did tell me their ages in the summer but I can't remember then exactly.
Kostas has a restaurant called Elmar which is doing very well.
