Right then, lets get down to business, flight advice anyone please..., from uk, average good price to pay? or bargains even better? which Airline? to which airport do I want to be flying to? Is Sidari too far away from Roda? Part of our family followed us over but stayed in Sidari last time we came. Shall I book flights and hotel separate or go for package? Too many questions? There's a joke there somewhere... Wouldn't mind a quick mini break taster,...like tomorrow x

Decisions decisions! The easy question to answer is which airport - there's only one! Corfu International Airport. Whether to book flight & accommodation separately or go for a package is all down to personal choice and what you are looking for in a holiday, there are good flight prices with Easyjet, Ryanair, B.A., Jet2 if you book early. Do you want self catering or half/full board? Is a pool onsite a must have? Have a look at the holiday/accommodation/restaurant reviews on this forum to get some idea of what's available & feel free to ask as many questions as you need to get the right choice for you. As for Sidari - it's a totally different place to Roda, more like Blackpool with sunshine, it's about 15k away but feels like it's on another planet!!! Hope this is of some help Shel, pete.

Does anyone know of any accommodation with an outdoor heated pool? Even if there's an option to pay the management for it to be heated?x

I don't think there are any heated pools around Roda, Shel, other than maybe a couple of spa-type all inclusives at the far end of Acharavi. Much depends on when you will be here as, once the sun gets to work, the outdoor pools quickly heat up. In May, they can be colder than the sea, and again in October the sea is warmer. We're even swimming now! During the peak summer months, most pools are fine.

Acharavi is the next town heading East, about 2k, you can walk to it along the beach or the main road, a taxi will cost you about 6 euros for up to 4 people or there's the local bus, not running too many times a day but 1.5 euros each. The all inclusives are at least another 1k further along. pete.

Even if you went to Ivi Spa in Acharavi, there may still be a charge to use the facilities. Stick to Roda - in June/July, the pools will be just fine.

It is 'all-inclusive' Shel, not the best way to see the village and meet the people.

No need for heated pool in summer. And if you want to see the best of Roda, do not go to an all-inclusive hotel.

Yes, you are both right, I'm glad you are guiding me back to the whole point of me coming back to Roda. I suppose it's a massive part of the experience in eating/drinking and getting out and about. My little boys have lung conditions so I was a little nervy about the icy cold water that you usually find with outdoor pools. We went to Turkey with them last and none of us Adults were brave to get into the pool, I think it gets harder to jump in as you get older, I would need someone to push me in! haha x The weather was scorching, the floor would burn your feet, but the pool was crazy cold!.. The kids just played about splashing by the very shallow paddling pool and it really spoilt the holiday in what was a beautiful and friendly hotel. We couldn't all jump in and swim and play like families should x

I usually go the last 2 weeks in June & usually the pools aren't really cold. Mostly you find they're a pleasant temperature.
