I agree guest. I've been to spain once and never been back. Maybe I went to the wrong place! I've been to loads of places in Greece and loved them all. The only place i've ever been back to is Roda!!! I wonder why??

There have been some very negative comments on another forum in which I got a little bit involved. In true form, the administrators slapped my wrist and slammed the door shut, having themselves had the last say. A blatant abuse of privilege. It seems that some of the 'locals' - ex-pats who live in Corfu, have glasses that are half-empty and I must say thank-you to jeanP for pointing that out! There have been one or two delays, but then that happens everywhere - especially in a working democracy. The road through the village is in the same place that it always was. Until the tarmac is laid, the shops are just a little bit further away. ;D I would guess that our guest is a relic from the other forum. This is today's "plaited sawdust" Downalong End of the road Upalong Splendour Bar Odysseus emerges - but where is Nafsika?

The newly widened roads will actually provide increased facilities for all those tourists from around the island who like the village, but can never easily park. This is one reason why it is so avidly supported by local people. I think it will be fabulous.

Can't believe all the negative comments from the other forum re the work....(I remember when one Greek minute meant at least a few hours, and Avrio!!!!! well we could wait and wait (but that has always been the Greek way that we all fell in love with)....I wanted to add my bit but of course the thread has been locked...as always happens when we are not in agreement with the chosen ones. I think the work is looking good....even tho' I loved it as it was.

You're just being lazy, Dave. You could do a bit of paving for them while you're there too. Just in case it's not getting done quickly enough! PS I dunno how bad the ruddy garden is, you never invited me round to see it.

Jean, I can certainly remember having my wrist slapped on more than one occasion by some regular posters on this site after making comments that had a different point of view to the majority. I think the thread on the'other site' you refer to was turning nasty and becoming personal (from both sides) and had to be locked by the administrators. Something I know would happen on here if the need arose. It becomes a problem on any forum if those who take part are unwilling to accept that there maybe an alternative point of view to their own.

We accept a lot of alternative views Steve, many different from our own. We have editted or deleted the very minimum of postings, but we have never made a last provocative statement, promoting our personal viewpoint, and then slammed the door shut for anyone else. That would be quite unnacceptable, both to us, and to our members. We do whatever we can to allow all opinions and only sensor anything when they become personal or insulting. If, at any time, we do not adhere to these principles, then please let us know. We are not too proud to apologise. Steve

''You can't please all of the people '' etc but the Artisans seem to be making a pretty good go of it !! Trying to judge just where to draw the line is a real pain. Keep at it Artis, no complaints from me.
