One other thing springs to mind, Steve, - this is not a matter of viewpoints, it is matter of contracts. The road widening contract is welcomed passionately by every local Greek that I have spoken to - quite a few, and without exception - and the work will be finished soon and not in a a few months time, or never. This is a fact, not a viewpoint. There have been a few last minute problems to resolve such as alignment, but things are really steaming ahead and the outcome will be beneficial to the village that we all support and come back to every year.

There's always an afterthought, Steve. I sat on the wall today, opposite the Afrodite, talking to John, the guy who started this controversial post on the other website. He thinks the benefits to Roda are considerable.

The considerable benefits to Roda have never been in question, that was not the purpose of my post. Well I am off to wrap my wrist in ice again, for the last time. Shame.

Hi, Ive just read the thread upto page 6 I think it was.... Regarding the Alpha supermarket now being where Mary's was last year. Has Mary's re-located or is it no more?.... We enjoyed so many delicious meals there last year ....Apologies if this question has already been asked and answered Sam

Mary's is no more, Sam. She's retired, as far as I can remember.
I know a few people that really enjoyed the food there.

Looking at the new pavements, it looks as though all the slab laying finished yesterday, the grouting probably by today, the telegraph poles have been resited, kerb/road edgings and grids almost done, businesses catching up and the road laying is about to start. Should not be long now!

Not much to show of the work at the moment. The pavement is complete, the gutters & gulleys have now been finished off, telegraph poles moved, just waiting for the tarmac.

A slightly smaller but nicely presented Odysseus re-opens tonight. Tables laid ready for the first customers of the year.
