Me too, Jean! One year at Makis, as soon as the rep had left, after the welcome meeting, I went round with flyers from all the travel shops so that the newbies could compare prices! Just as well I never got caught, eh?

I think at sometime we all recommend and say to new comers to Corfu, and on all sites to visit their local Travel Shop on the island for a better deal. And why not, at least we know our money goes to the local resource rather than more money to the already heavy pockets of the TOs. We all know what hoteliers and accommodations ownere get per room (not per person).

I have no problem with reps coming to meetings Chris, if only we can work together to promote Roda. The issue is that this girl had a pre-conceived idea that we were stealing her commissions, she didn't believe what she was told, she didn't observe what was going on and later, maybe under pressure, she lied to her company. In the final outcome, she lost out, the village lost out and the accommodation owner lost out.

Which should not have happened Steve. As I said this is not rare for some Reps to do this, and then pass the buck when it goes wrong. They do think they have the upper hand sometimes. Unfortunately there is not enough of independent holidays, so in theory we are stuck with package deals, and the associated Reps. I have to say, not all are bad by far.

At the end of the day she shot herself in the foot she is the one who has now been moved from a fantastic village to where? Good luck to her!
