While on the topic of cuddles from the new members of the Village, a concern was expressed to me recently.
Greek paediatricians have suggested that parents should be aware of the spread of swine flu through people touching and particularly kissing children.
We all like to give children whom we haven't seen for a long time, or for the first time, an affectionate kiss but please bear in mind that Greece has had relatively few cases of swine flu, especially compared to the UK, and one of the country's biggest risk is from visitors.
So, on behalf of many local mums, who wouldn't perhaps know how to say this, please think twice before kissing the infants of the village. I know many of you may feel that you couldn't pass on the virus but nevertheless, be sure and avoid giving these adorable youngsters a kiss when you see them.
Thanks Julie

To put things into perspective - Greece has only 220 reported cases of swine flu, most of which have been traced back to the US or the UK. Please be careful.
