The following news article is taken from the online Greek/English newspaper, "The Corfu Today" dated, Friday 19th June 2009.
This may not involve Roda direct, but might have an implication on the way we travel to Corfu. This is something that has been in the making for well over a year now, and each time it appears more and more likely to take place. Some might say is it worth having two airports on an island the size of Corfu. On the other hand we could look how it would illeviate some of the waiting time at Kerkyra Airport, if those visiting the south were landed at Lefkimmi. What are your views.

On July 13th, the presentation of the study for the airport in Lefkimmi
The Deputy Minister of Justice and the New Republican of Corfu Nicholas Dendias mark the completion of the study from the National Technical University on the possibility of siting new airport in Lefkimmi made the following statement:
"I am particularly pleased to learn of the completion of the National Hydrogen Study Investigation Capabilities and Location of the International Airport in Lefkimmi whose presentation will be held on July 13 in Corfu by the project coordinator Mr. Polyzos and colleagues."
As I mentioned in my previous statements it is a very important task since it is one of the two regional airports will be built in Greece. Particularly important for our island is the fact that the project will include construction of roads on a north-south axis. A road that will radically change the times and conditions of travel in South Corfu.
