Hi all,
Me and 3 of my friends are coming to Roda in early September 2009.
We are all in our 20s, and although we're looking for a relatively relaxing holiday we don't want to be sat in the hotel at night so were wondering if anyone has any recommendations on where to go for food and to have a few drinks? Looking for somewhere to go to have a taste of Greek too!
Any tips and recommendations would be greatly appreciated!
Charlie

Hi Charlie,
Where are you staying in Roda - then we will be able to tell you about tavernas etc nearby.
Best wishes, Kath.

Kalimera Charlie, Roda is full of lovely Tavernas. On the main road from the crossroads to the beach I recommend Drossia,on the beachfront I am a devotee of Opa(my absolute favourite), there is also the Dolphin, side street you have Roda Inn, if you want English food whilst in Greece I believe Maggies is good which is also on side street. For drinks you can't beat Pirates Bar on seafront. Apparently a bar is going to be doing a bouzouki night once a week for a greek experience. Most accomodation and some Tavernas put on Greek dancing once a week. To have a real experience of Greece, have a cruise. Highly recommend Erikousa trip with Captain George Dream cruises. Bev

Bev, from what I hear Maggies is no longer serving breakfasts, but English breakfasts are available at various places around Roda. Charlie, I am also in my 20's I tend to eat at Newport Restaurant, Odysseus and some of the ones already mentioned there are some great Greek dishes available to suit everyone's taste. In the evenings I usually divide my time between Pirates and Drunken Sailor visiting a few of the bars in between, I would also recommend an evening in Acharavi and Sidari just for a change of scenery. Sidari have various nights including foam parties and popcorn parties etc. As Bev mentioned above the trip to Erikousa Island is well worth it, and also if you have the time Corfu Town is great for a shopping trip Hope this helps you out. Hi Racheyr, I was meaning if they miss their English roast dinners or fish and chips to try Maggies. I have heard Pirates do the best English breakfast. Not being 20-30 anymore anything else for 20's out of my league, but talking to Nikos last year have to agree a taxi to Sidari would be perfect for a few nights out. They wouldn't take John or Yiannis last year to a foam party as they were deemed to old. Drunken Sailor is a good night in Roda for the more lively too. Bev

Bev, Have only ever eaten breakfasts at Maggies in the past so that's why I assumed you meant breakfast!! lol Pirates breakfast is lovely and if you ask you can even have it with English bacon, also love the English bacon rolls from Alexandros pool bar as well, perfect hangover food!! I'm shocked they wouldn't take John or Yiannis to a foam party, you are never too old!! lol Rachael
