Here I am, in Eftichia's for a week's stay with Julie and Steve. It was a long journey from Gatwick yesterday if we add in the four hour flight delay, courtesy of Greek air traffic control who decided to strike when they heard I was coming! Seriously, it's great to be in Roda again. I've already seen some changes from last year mostly for the better, and the village seems is already quietly buzzing, hopefully in anticipation of a great season. I've actually bought my tennis rackets this year as Julie and Steve have found another tennis player...in Roda! Look forward to seeing friends from previous years, Don - Julie's Dad

Hi Steve - The photo that Petra posted looks like Danny playing in Holland. A couple of years ago we looked around for a court in Roda and failed to find one in playable condition. The one ot Pegasus is in a bit of a state and the owner said that the cost of repair was prohibitive. We found four free courts in Sidari, but only one is now playable and two are being used for basketball. I believe there may be a couple in Acharavi, but I doubt if they are free. It is something we need and we will continue to look for an opportunity for tennis fans to enjoy their game.

It's a shame there are no playable courts in Roda. Many years ago we used to play at the Roda beach hotel (no-one seemed to mind). Despite the heat, the opportunity to play would definately add to the attractions that the village has to offer . A business venture waiting to happen perhaps?

hi steve, might be an opportunity for us ..... And Danny could be the tennis/teacher (I advised him to start learning but it costs far too much to become a professional teacher... he has to start saving first) In Holland we have a lot of graveltenniscourts, I don't think there are any gravelcourts in Greece, do you know why?? is it too dry (the weather) to be used in countries like Greece...?

Hi Petra, Danny told us about your gravel courts, but even Julie's Dad had never played on one. Sounds interesting ...
