MAGGIES RODA
I have just been reading this from another "Site", and having read this Forums thread on Maggies, I thought our members would be interested in having a read of what ones good thoughts on Maggies and the food, turned others into a debatable manifest.

Chris, if its the same one i've been reading under the heading "fish and chips" its been unbelievable! Some people seem to lose the "live and let live" ethos once they step on foreign soil. My motto for Roda is "something for everyone in taste and in pocket"
regards, Kath.

Its up to everyone to decide what they want to eat when they are on holiday. You have a really good variety of decent meals from different countries in Roda.
Its like all the Italians who come to England and say that our Lasagna/Pasta/pizza is not as good as back home in Italy.

I had my say on the other site. There are few things aggravate me more than people moaning and groaning about how tourists spoil an area - often bragging that they actively seek out the places "where the locals go" - as though these places (good though they undoubtedly are) are any better than what is on offer for the visitor. And these moaners never seem to appreciate that they are themselves contributing to any problems - after all, they are tourists themselves, are they not?
I will be visiting Maggies, along with many other establishments on my forthcoming trip to Roda. If I want fish and chips (or McDonalds, or Chinese or whatever) then I'm blimmin well going to have it!!

We like Greek food Lynda, but we also like good food from wherever. Maggie's is near the top of the list.

Well said BoltonLynda, I totally agree with all you have said. I am one who will eat where the locals eat, but one, I do not pass fault on where or what others eat, because like yourself Lynda, I like a change, or similar sometimes. In my view, its your money, you do what you will with it.
I have not been to the other site Steve, did you comment. ;D ;D

I must admit the Liver dish on offer @ Maggie's was exceptional..the liver was half the size of the plate alone and I could'nt wait for her to replennish her stocks till the following tuesday when the liver was back on the menu ...it was lovely (the best liver I've ever had) easily.
I was brave too sampling greek dishes for the 1st time having Moussaka twice and trying Sofrito as well as already loving the greek salad the one with the feta cheese lol that is smashing mmmm

Hi Berty - most of the liver dishes served in Corfu are made from beef liver which is really tasty but not so common in the UK. We went with Maggie one day to her butcher in Corfu Town & I can assure you it is really first class - possibly the best shop I have ever visited.

Hi Andy - I would think that Maggie's will be open no later than 3rd May. She has already been doing some of the preparatory work.
