This is what they will look like in 3-4 weeks time. They were actually a riddle before the contest proper was started and they were guessed by Helen (Capt. George's Dreamer Cruises) I can't help you any more without telling you - except they are delicious and you can buy them in supermarkets across Europe .. there I go again ... oh! and they may come from Essex ;D

We thought so, they're all correct of course, they are persimmons or lotous in Greek. In the UK supermarkets they have the sharon fruit which is from the same family. There are lots of different types. You can eat the whole of fruit but they need to be very ripe or they are astringent - they dry your mouth out a bit like biting into an unripe damson.
