Hi Steve, did the storm arrive ? Just starting to snow here - wonder what it'll be like in the morning? pete.

All wind & no rain, Pete - gusts up to 45 mph and crazy temperatures with winds from Africa. Today is the first day we've seen with clear blue, cloudless skies and it's still 18 0C in the apartment without any heating whatsoever. Hope the snow doesn't disrupt things! We're waiting for Dave Jackson to get over to Chester to collect some boxes - he's delayed his journey because of the weather. By the way, doesn't all the salt come from Middlewich - you lot should be OK! ;D Steve

The rock salt used on our roads comes from the mine at Winsford - 5 miles away - i used to work there - great job. The white , table & cooking salt does indeed come from Middlewich, it's just been on the news that they are using out of spec white salt to subsidise the rock salt as supplies are getting low. pete.
