A few people have been aware that Steve, Artisans, has been battling bladder cancer for three years. At first, apart from regular operations to shave it off with follow up treatment, it barely affected our lives. But in November it got aggressive and he was down for a major operation in Ioannina. But that operation got delayed and Steve was admitted to the hospital here in Corfu as an emergency on 26th February. At first it looked hopeful, but a series of set backs decreased his chances. I have brought him home to Roda for whatever time he has left. He loves Roda and Corfu and this is where he wants to be. Thanks to everyone who has sent messages of support, they are so very much appreciated. Jan

Such sad news. I remember many interesting conversations with Steve in Roda especially the early years when we were neighbours at Efthicias he was so passionate about promoting the village he clearly loved. He will be greatly missed by locals and summer visitors.

Shocked to read the sad news. We always enjoyed meeting up with you both in Roda and greatly appreciated Steves' help when Maureen was having blood pressure problems a few years ago. You are in our thoughts and prayers . He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Jan, so sorry to hear this. Our thoughts are with you. When we first came to Roda 10 years ago and met with Steve it was his passion and love for Roda that got us hooked and we now see it as our second home. Devastated we couldn't get out at the beginning of May to see you both.If there is anything we can do over here in the UK for you just message me. Big hugs
Carol & Ray xxx
