There are a couple of major redevelopments in Acharavi. Adonis has taken advantage of the restrictions and is going though what looks like a major refit, as is the former Ginger next to Kazianis supermarket. There have also been a couple of new shops opening there. Vanilla has opened it doors in a well positioned building next to Yours. There is also a shop dedicated to the pampered dog on the same side of the road, but before the bakery, also a vetinerian practice up near Alpha bank.. A couple of fast food and coffee places have changed names and appearance.

Gelina has been bought by Grecohotels along with 2 adjacent properties (Nosto and Vassilia) to make a mega complex of 350,000 square meters to be known as Greco Costa Botanica, hopefully it won't be all inclusive, but I'm not holding my breath. I must admit I can't find much detail on Vassilia or even Nosto.

I walked passed Adonis a couple of days ago. That place has been stripped back to bare bones, even the tiles on the outside have been removed. There are new signage boards, still under wraps, new doors are awaiting fitting. The doors were open and I got a glimpse of a very smart modern bar fitted at the back of the room. The bar will be so very different from the one that seems to have stayed unchanged for as long as I have been going into Acharavi. I keep meaning to park the car up and have a walk along the length of the town as there does seem to be a lot of changes.

That would be appreciated by my friend - she and her husband stayed in Acarhavi for many years until ill health stopped their visits - she would love to know what's changed in the last few years.

Work continue apace at the former Baze Beach hotel at on the beach road to Acharavi with a lot of demolition and reconstruction work happeing. I'm not sure what this will end up being as it doesn't quite look like a swimming pool. Am walking more so will keep an eye on what develops.

I have been covering this under Developments but have moved it to here as it is more to do with Acharavi than Roda.
There has been a lot of social media chatter about Acharavi Mare hotel. I only realised since I came back that the comments were with regard to the former Beis Beach complex. They have bookings for the coming season and I have to agree with the comments on social media that it looks far from ready for any guests for the near future. I do know that sites here can be cleared rapidly and what looked like a building site transforms almost ovenight into a hotel. I will have a walk down passed there soon and check for myself and let you know.
