As you have probably read in the Press; Hays Group brought all the Thomas Cook shops and hope to save the majority of the jobs initially. Surprisingly the deal was only for about £6m for some 550 shops.
Now we read that the Chinese Group, Fosun, who were large shareholders of the Thomas Cook Group, have brought the Brand Name of Thomas Cook and a couple other names as well. They plan to use these for some holidays with further details to follow stating that the Brand is a strong name.

A good number of the Thomas Cook flight slots have been purchased from the Administrators. Easyjet have bought those at Gatwick and Bristol while Jet2 have bought those at Birmingham, Manchester and Stanstead. In addition Jet2 have bought 7 Thomas Cook planes; 4 to use from Manchester and 3 from Birmingham.
Apparently the securing of these slots will also open up new flights to some Greek Islands for these carriers.

TUI have recruited around 100 ex Thomas Cook pilots. No news if that means they'll have extra flights next year as yet.

Surprisingly it's cheaper for us to fly British Airways from Heathrow than to use EasyJet from Bristol and the Bonus is the flights are CHEAPER. And the flight times are much better as well with 2 flights a way on some days

I believe the luggage allowance is better and the in-flight meals if you get them. Some locals have been using them for years.
