Good afternoon from Roda. It was our day for duty at the recycling centre, so a delayed report. We were so busy and had to do 3 hours instead of 2. So far we have sent for recycling in excess of 50 cubic meters of product which would otherwise have on the side of the road, although there are now plenty of both types of bins around. Thankfully this morning dawned bright but chilly with clear blue skies with only a few wispy clouds. there was little or no breeze and the sea was flat calm. Albania wasn't quite as clear as it had been.
Yesterday was a mostly sunny day, with dark clouds around us especially to the south and north. However over us it stayed nice and we had lovely sunny weather except for an occasional cloudy moment. The clouds did build up a bit more towards sunset, especially a huge dark thing that loomed over to the west of us. It gave us such a dramatic sunset as can be seen in the photo. the sunset seemed to last a long time with it fading from the dramatic to a soft show of pinks and lilacs. The evening itself was most clear skies with the super moon shedding its light over us. No need for torches last night! Albania was slightly hidden by a haze but we could still see the village lights. Later on someone with a great camera took an amazing photo of the moonlight on the snowy peaks of Albania, glowing under a cloudless sky. The Wolf moon was photographed by many on the island and looked stunning, but it was too warm in my bed!
This is a photo I took last night of the dramatic sunset we had.

Good afternoon from Roda. We had an update meeting this morning for the recycling group of Roda and Sfakera. There is still plenty of enthusiasm and plans for the coming season and a meeting is to be held on Friday to bring the businesses aboard. So far we have sent 63 cubic metres to the recycling company in only three weeks of operation. Back to the weather. We had a cloudy night with gaps that allowed the moon to shine through our bathroom window. However by the time we got up the ruffled sea was a deep petrol green shade and Albania playing with the clouds. A passing small white ferry added startling contrast. Clouds were hiding the high peaks but were also lurking in some of the higher valleys. It was the same for us. There must have been some rain during the night as paths were wet. The wind had seriously picked up and the trees and shrubs were thrashing around.
Yesterday was lovely for the morning and into the afternoon, then the clouds started gathering until they had built up enough to give us a spell of drizzle in the early evening. The sea remained calm and the wind gentle, but the cloud cover hid any trace of sunset. The evening was mild and a bit hazy with most of the village lights in Albania present. On our walk back from the village the moon was still bright enough to light our way from behind the clouds, however it did escape to be seen as a fuzzy ball before being hidden again. The breeze was gentle and the sea calm with only whispering waves coming ashore. It was mild with the temperature at midnight approaching 13°C.
The temperature at 9am on Tuesday 22nd January was 12.4°C, real feel 6°C, and the humidity was 72% giving a dew point of 7°C

Good morning from Roda. We had more thunder during the night with one almighty crash waking me up around 6am. We awoke proper to steady rain, low clouds hiding the mountains and Albania only a mere outline on the horizon. The sea is quite choppy and a most unappealing colour. There is almost no wind which, with this rain, is a bonus. Unhappily this wet weather is to stay with us for at least another week to a greater or lesser extent. The ground is already water logged with ponds forming around our garden and the drainage ditches are full.
Yesterday was a wet and stormy day with thunder and lightning on and off all day. The wind was very strong in the morning but eased off to a light breeze by the afternoon. The rain, when it came, was a deluge with the roads quickly flooded and gutters pouring forceful streams on any unfortunate to be walking underneath or near them. Welly boots were essential footwear. We did get a bit of a respite in the early evening on our walk back from the village there were some gaps in the clouds. This allowed the full moon to shine and light our way home. The air had cleared enough for the lights of the larger Albanian villages to be seen. However we were still getting lightning from some far distant storm. It may have been 11°C but it felt freezing with the dampness.
The temperature at 9am on Wednesday 23rd January was 9.2°C, real feel 8°C, and the humidity was 80% giving a dew point of 6°C
The maximum temperature this day 2018 was 11.7°C and the minimum 3.7°C. A sunny start to the day before clouding over completely.
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 12.8°C (real feel 6°C), and the minimum was 9.6°C , a dew point of 9°C. The maximum humidity was 82% and the minimum 71%.

Thank you Kaz, we are lucky with our apartment, being one floor up, we get amazing clear views of the sunset. Many times we drop whatever we are doing and rush out to stand and stare.

Good morning from Roda. We awoke to almost clear skies with a few clouds, but the skies quickly succumbed to the clouds and we got 100% cover. It is however dry which is something to be grateful after the drenching we have had in the last few days. It may be cloudy and we have very high humidity it is, however, very clear with the sunlit snowy peaks of Albania proud across the channel. The sea is ruffled and we have noisy waves hitting the shore. It is quite breezy which is due to increase around midday.
Yesterday was very wet, with heavy prolonged rain leading to lots of water lying around and filling the ditches. Those of us at sea level have gardens that have turned to swamps with the drainage ditches full and the village streams rushing to the sea gouging fresh channels as the reach the shore. We did get the very occasional short lived break, only for the rain to come back even worse. There were a few rumbles of thunder and flashes of lightning throughout the day. The evening saw heavy wind driven rain pounding on our apartment south facade. So we locked the doors against it and settled down for a night in.
The temperature at 10am on Thursday 24th January was 8.5°C, real feel 4°C, and the humidity was 95% giving a dew point of 9°C
The maximum temperature this day 2018 was 11.9°C and the minimum 4.5°C. A cool but sunny day.

Good morning from Roda. I will be doing a double weather report today as yesterday just got too busy. Thursday afternoon continued as the morning left off with spells of sunshine and dark brooding clouds around. There was a quick shower producing a stunning complete rainbow. After the shower it was more clouds than sunshine. The evening started off calm with neither wind nor waves. Then we had heavy rain with rumbles of thunder and strong winds lashing our south wall for the rest of the evening. It stayed mild a purely academic 11°C. The heavy rain overnight on Thursday stopped around 9am when it started brightening up. The sea was calm and there was almost a breeze. Albania was lost behind a dark veil. The sun was making a valiant effort to shine and did even manage it for a time or two. However the rain started again in the afternoon and was pretty much continuous. It had dried up in time to have a brave attempt at a sunset. The evening was cloudy with some breaks to let some stars shine and the veil in front of Albania had gone to allow the village lights to shine. However it then started with light drizzle.
The temperature at 10am on Friday 25th January was 10.4°C, real feel 9°C, and the humidity was 83% giving a dew point of 7°C
The maximum temperature this day 2018 was 10.5°C and the minimum 2.9°C. A frosty start to a sunny day.
Thursday's maximum temperature was 12.5°C (real feel 7°C), and the minimum was 4.2°C , a dew point of 10°C. The maximum humidity was 95% and the minimum 76%.
The reported UV for Friday was low at 1/2 ( Range 1- 11+).
Now for today.
This morning we awoke to the wind thumping the mozzie blind toggle against the window repeatedly. The sound of the waves also added to the wakeup call. Opening the curtains showed a raging sea for as for as the eye could see. The humidity had dropped and showed the Albanian peaks gleaming with a fresh covering of snow.
The temperature at 10am on Saturday 26th January was 11.7°C, real feel 10°C, and the humidity was 64% giving a dew point of 6°C
The maximum temperature this day 2018 was 11.3°C and the minimum 4.2°C. A frosty start to a sunny day getting cloudier.
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 12.9°C (real feel 9°C), and the minimum was 9.1°C , a dew point of 10°C. The maximum humidity was 84% and the minimum 76%. The reported UV for today is low at 1 ( Range 1- 11+).
UK range 1- 8 The UV Index does not exceed 8 in the UK (8 is rare; 7 may occur on exceptional days, mostly in the two weeks around the summer solstice). The maximum temperature recorded by me in Roda in 2018 was 33.0°C real feel 35°C, on 8th June. The maximum recorded temperature ever in Corfu was 42.8°C The lowest recorded temperature was -8.8°C

Good morning from Roda. What a beautiful morning, we have cloudless blue skies, the gentlest of breezes and a calm sea, though I can hear the waves breaking on the shore. The snow capped mountains of Albania are a beautiful sight with the sun making the snow even whiter. Breakfast was enjoyed on the balcony where it was warm enough to sunbathe with the temperature in the sun touching 20°C.
Yesterday was a mostly cloudy day with a few patches of blue now and then. The clouds and the wind gradually eased as the day wore on. The sea also became a lot calmer, but the sea level was high so there were long rolling waves crashing on the sea wall by the Coral and spraying the road. There were enough clouds to mask the sunset, but cleared more in the evening to allow a myriad of stars to shine so clearly. But there was some haze across the sea towards Albania and only the lights from the largest villages showed.
The temperature at 10am on Sunday 27th January was 8.7°C, real feel 11°C, and the humidity was 79% giving a dew point of 5°C.
The maximum temperature this day 2018 was 10.5°C and the minimum 2.9°C. A frosty start to a sunny day.
Saturday's maximum temperature was 11.9°C (real feel 9°C), and the minimum was 6.1°C , a dew point of 5°C. The maximum humidity was 86% and the minimum 60%.
The reported UV for Friday was low at 2 ( Range 1- 11+). The maximum humidity was 84% and the minimum 76%.

Good morning from Roda. It is a much better morning than expected. We had a little shower during the night but it has been dry so far. The forecast was for heavy rain and strong winds. We do have mostly clouds but the sun does break through quite a few times, and it is mild. The wind does stir itself now and then but not the strong one forecast as yet. The sea is calm and an amazing turquoise colour from all the silt washed in from the streams. Albania is mostly absent on the horizon.
Yesterday was a lovely day for the most part, with clouds only starting to form in the afternoon. Roda got stuck under one of them as there was sunshine all around! However by the time of the sunset we had complete cover. There wasn't much wind during the day, and the sea looked a bit calmer, but long long waves were still coming ashore but not breaking over the sea wall. The lamppost nearest the Boathouse had the sea grass plastered all the way up its height from the waves a couple of days ago!
The temperature at 10am on Monday 28th January was 13.2°C, real feel 13°C, and the humidity was 77% giving a dew point of 9°C.
The maximum temperature this day 2018 was 12.9°C and the minimum 5.3°C. A sunny and calm day.
Sunday's maximum temperature was 12.6°C (real feel 13°C), and the minimum was 3.4°C , a dew point of 8°C. The maximum humidity was 79% and the minimum 70%.

I have no idea how I managed it but put yestrdays report on 2016 thread! I can only blame the fact that I have this bug that is goin around and not thinking right. Good morning from Roda. It is mostly cloudy here this morning with thicker cloud to the south and thin ones to the north giving us patches of blue. The sea is calm and we have a gentle breeze. The snowy peaks of the Albanian mountains are very clear close to us and fading into the haze further away. A lovely start to the day after the massive thunder and lightning storm we had during the night. More rain is forecast but not until late afternoon on wards.
Yesterday started off quite pleasant but the wind steadily increased during the afternoon, and with it the rain. Just drizzle at first the getting steadily heavier. By the evening the wind was wild and we had some extremely heavy downpours and thunder and lightning rattling all around us. It was, however, mild with the temperature at 11pm 11°C.
The temperature at 10am on Tuesday 29th January was 11.6°C, real feel 14°C, and the humidity was 80% giving a dew point of 9°C.
The maximum temperature this day 2018 was 12.6°C and the minimum 4.2°C. Another sunny and calm day.
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 14.8°C (real feel 15°C), and the minimum was 8.8°C , a dew point of 11°C.
The maximum humidity was 79% and the minimum 72%.

Good morning from Roda. What a lovely surprise when we drew back the curtains this morning. Having been forecast a week of clouds and rain we had sunshine. There was lots of lovely blue sky on show with thin streaky clouds to the north and lumpier clouds to the south and east. The stunning snow capped peaks of Albania gleamed across the flat calm sea, with only the very gentle sound of waves coming ashore. The breeze was almost non-existent so breakfast was enjoyed on the balcony. It was warm enough to sunbathe. It was so peaceful with the twittering of the little birds that fill our garden joined by the mew of a buzzard that soared overhead. It does the soul good. Neither of us is well at the moment having caught this bug that is doing the rounds here, but we enjoyed just basking in the sun and listening to the birds.
Yesterday had a promising and bright start but the clouds built up to give us a dark cloudy afternoon. It started to drizzle and that soon increased to give rain showers with thunder rumbling around. Strangely we got a hint of the sunset with a band of pretty apricot across the western sky, all we could see of the distant sunset over not so far off Italy to the west. The evening settled into steady rain.
The temperature at 10am on Wednesday 30th January was 9.6°C, real feel 14°C, and the humidity was 83% giving a dew point of 7°C.
The maximum temperature this day 2018 was 12.9°C and the minimum 4.9°C. Another cloudy start to the day cleared in late afternoon to give a clear night.
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 13.0°C (real feel 13°C), and the minimum was 8.6°C , a dew point of 9°C.
The maximum humidity was 81% and the minimum 74%.

Good morning from Roda. We had a night of heavy rain which continued into the morning accompanied by very close thunder and lightning. We could even hear the rain beating on the wall behind the bed! Apparently there were thunderstorms over the island during the night but we must have slept through them! The rain continued steadily until around 11am, adding to the pond that was once the garden. It is however steadily brightening up, with Albania just about visible across the channel, but and hills and mountain tops that were murky are clear. There is a large field at Almyros that has been turned into a very picturesque small lake. Pity I didn't have my camera.
Yesterday stayed lovely for quite some time with the amount of clouds building up slowly. By four in the afternoon we were watching a storm cloud build to the west and head our way. It got very windy and we had some thunder and lightning with some rain before it all died away. The evening continued much the same with some occasional rolls of thunder, some lightning and intermittent rain. It was a cool 7°C at bedtime.
The temperature at 10am on Thursday 31st January was 7.4°C, real feel 7°C, and the humidity was 92% giving a dew point of 6°C.
The maximum temperature this day 2018 was 12.2°C and the minimum 4.9°C. A sunny start to the day that developed some clouds later on.
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 12.7°C (real feel 14°C), and the minimum was 7.9°C , a dew point of 8°C.
The maximum humidity was 83% and the minimum 64%.
