This Friday the 14th September there is a festival in the village square to celebrate the friendship between the locals and the expat community. Music by both Take Two and the two Spirs - with hopefully some link up between the two duos. In addition to the usual souvlaki there will be burgers and hot dogs. An earlier start due to evenings drawing in at 8pm. Just a 20 minute walk from the beach. Come and join what should be a fun evening.
There are posters around Roda and surrounding areas confirming the event.

The festival was good, mix of music we get in uk with bouzouki and the two duos played 2 tunes together, we had a villager sing Tina Turner and another singing as well. I worked helping with the cooking, serving of souvlaki, burgers and hot dogs. It was a nice mild evening. After clearing the tables and chairs the helpers had food and drink before heading home at 2.30am, only to return at 10am to dismantle bbq and bar and then move everything including freezer and fridges to storage. Tiring but a rest with beer watching football soon lead to recovery. It was not packed crowd wise but many local greeks still at work and there was a wine festival in neighbouring Platonas last night.
