Over the last couple of nights we have been noticing that the village seems to be much busier than usual for the time of year. It is the time that the Italians and Greek families arrive, but we are hearing so many different languages, that at times it is rare to hear a British voice. The one area that is noticeably busier is along from Nino's towards the village, there are so many people walking along this stretch that we are wondering where they are coming from. Even the road going passed Roda Park and Nino's was much busier than I have seen for many years. Restaurants are full in the late evening with many people dining after 9 pm. We have seen over 40 people arrive in the space of 30 minutes after 9.30pm in one eatery alone, and looking along the other beach front restaurants it was mostly being repeated in all of them. Last night at the Ammos grill room there wasn't a spare table at 11pm! It is so good to see the village alive.
During the day the beach is busy but not over crowded with many businesses having improved their sun beds and beach seating, providing deep mattresses and large parasols. Several now provided double four poster style sun beds with gauzy curtains, and most do a food and drinks service direct to you on the beach. The price hasn't gone up either with two sun beds, parasol and table still only €5. Some are free as long as you eat and drink there. One or two places even provide unlimited free filtered water on the beach, with showers and waste bins provided by each business.
I am sure that the visitors are having a great holiday in our lovely little village.
