Good morning from Roda. It is a lovely morning here, we have sunshine with quite a few clouds around. The wind is nonexistent and the sea calm and silent. Albania is there across the channel with a fringe of clouds caught up on the mountain peaks. We enjoyed breakfast on the balcony where it was very hot in full sun. It chased us back into the cool of the house it was so warm. My washing will soon be dry if this keeps up. though we are expecting it to be much cloudier tomorrow. The north balcony though is still very cool as, at this time of year, the sun never reaches it. I did notice though that the Little Owls seemed to be using the lights as perches, judging by the evidence they left behind!
The bright start to yesterday stuttered and came to a halt, so that by mid-day we had complete cloud cover. The breezes died away completely, as did the clouds, to give us a dark, clear and starlit early evening. The lights from all the villages across the channel twinkled, and added to our lights, of which there were more as some places only open for the weekend. The sea was flat calm with barely a ripple, it was as near as possible silent. Steve and I stood for several minutes admiring the view by Makris apartments and could hear nothing, not a sound, everything was quiet, even the cats that have been trailing us hoping for titbits were absent with their mewing. By the time we walked back the clouds had crept back over the sky and the stars were gone.
The temperature at 10.00 am on Sunday 2nd. December 2018 was 12.6°C, real feel 13°C, and the humidity 80% giving a dew point of 9°C.
The maximum temperature this day 2017 was 16.1°C and the minimum 12.3°C. A mostly dry and sunny day, with a quick shower at mid-day.
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 15.3°C (real feel 15°C), and the minimum was 8.1°C , a dew point of 8°C. The maximum humidity was 77% and the minimum 64%.
The reported UV for today is low at 2 ( Range 1- 11+). UK range 1- 8 The UV Index does not exceed 8 in the UK (8 is rare; 7 may occur on exceptional days, mostly in the two weeks around the summer solstice). The maximum temperature recorded by me in Roda in 2018 was 33.0°C real feel 35°C, on 8th June. The maximum recorded temperature ever in Corfu was 42.8°C The lowest recorded temperature was -8.8°C

Good morning from Roda. It is quite a decent morning here, we have good spells of warming sunshine with some cloudier ones between. There are quite a lot of clouds up there and it is due to get cloudier. There is a gentle breeze, almost, and the sea is dead calm. It is very pale blue almost to the shores of Albania where is turns into a narrow streak of deep cobalt blue. Albania is nice and clear today, again with a fringe of clouds and a hint of the snows remaining on the highest peaks. It is, however, quite chilly in the shade, though quite pleasant, if a little warm, on the south balcony.
Yesterday stayed lovely and sunny all day. There were a few clouds around at the start but they had almost gone by the time the monochromatic orange sunset came around. It was warm, even hot, in the sun but quite cool in the shade, and once the sun had gone to bed it was distinctly chilly. The good visibility stayed with us all day, even into the night when all the lights of the Albanian villages were present. I have been quite remiss at never mentioning the welcoming lights of Episkepsi on its ledge half way up the hillside. I always look for them from the car park by Makis's on our way home on a night. We had a dark starlit night with our first sight of Orion for quite a while. The waves were bigger than the previous night and noisier, but the breeze was still almost absent. It was very chilly with the temperature continuing to fall towards midnight.
The temperature at 10.00 am on Monday 3rd. December 2018 was 11.7°C, real feel 12°C, and the humidity 83% giving a dew point of 9°C.
The maximum temperature this day 2017 was 15.8°C and the minimum 11.7°C. A day of rain, heavy at times and thunderstorms, drier in the evening.
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 15.8°C (real feel 16°C), and the minimum was 9.6°C , a dew point of 10°C. The maximum humidity was 81% and the minimum 69%.

Good morning from Roda. It was quite a pleasant start to the morning with sunshine and some clouds. We still managed breakfast on the balcony, just about warm enough. However the clouds won whatever battle they were having with the sun and it is just about full cover now. The humidity is high, and there is a general haze about, but we can still see a good bit of Albania across a quite calm sea. Thankfully there isn't much of a wind to add to the cool feel of today.
Yesterday was lovely in the morning with lots of sunshine, however the clouds again came and spoiled the party and we had a very minor spell of drizzle in the early afternoon. We had, by then, complete cloud cover, though the sun did try and find the odd weak spot. The evening saw us getting a very heavy shower of rain around 8pm, but it did dry up to let us get home in the dry. The air was still clear with Albanian lights shining across a calm sea. The is mild with the temperature in the late evening 15°C.
The temperature at 10.00 am on Tuesday 4th. December 2018 was 13.5°C, real feel 14°C, and the humidity 90% giving a dew point of 12°C.
The maximum temperature this day 2017 was 14.0°C and the minimum 10.5°C. A day of sunshine and clouds after early thunder storm.

Good morning from Roda. It is a stunningly glorious morning here. We have warm, even hot, sunshine in an almost clear blue sky, there is almost no haze with Albania and our hills really clear. The deep blue sea is topped at times with brilliant white foaming wave crests. There is almost no wind to add any chill, so breakfast was enjoyed in the hot sunshine on the south balcony. It might be the last bit of warmth for a few days as we are due to have a colder wetter spell soon.
Yesterday was a bit like a curate eggs, very good at times then the opposite. It started off well with a goodly amount of sunshine but clouds gathered cutting down the amount of brightness, but we were still getting. In fact the clouds got very dark and menacing over the mountains behind us. They decided that we deserved a heavy shower of rain which chased Steve in from the garden. Then the skies cleared to give us a pretty good attempt at a sunset with the hills being painted orange and then pink in the dying light. The clouds went off to do their own thing, leaving a few behind for the numerous stars to peak from behind. The sea was getting noticeably noisier with much bigger waves coming ashore. It was still not that cold with the late evening temperature 12°C.
The temperature at 10.00 am on Wednesday 4th. December 2018 was 14.3°C, real feel 14°C, and the humidity 82% giving a dew point of 11°C.
The maximum temperature this day 2017 was 13.7°C and the minimum 10.8°C. A day of sunshine and wind.

Good morning from Roda. We had another early drive into Corfu town today. The last rosy fingers of dawn were still in the sky as we headed off, and there was still mist in the valleys. The strong winds of yesterday had gone but I could hear the waves pounding the shore during the night. They were still active when we got up, but are starting to die away now. There is very little haze so Albania and the Diapontian islands were nice and clear as we topped the pass at Trompeta. Coming back we could see even more snow on the far Albanian peaks, and as we left town Pantokrator seemed so close with all the ridges crisp and clear. Even nicer was the large mass of snowdrops in one of the olive groves, so lovely to see them. We are having an easy day enjoying the sun on the balcony.
Yesterday stayed lovely all day, so hard to believe that it is December when, during the day, you are down to short sleeves. At night you need a good coat as it is definitely chilly. A very strong wind blew up in the afternoon, building up the waves till they were crashing against the sea walls. The wind drove all the clouds from the sky leaving us without enough to give us anything other than a monochromatic orange glow. The lack of clouds meant that we had loads of stars joining the lights from around the bay added to by a ferry lit up like a Christmas tree. Despite the wind, which was starting to die away, it was quite mild wandering back from the village and still 13°C in the late evening.
The temperature at 10.00 am on Thursday 6th. December 2018 was 11.5°C, real feel 12°C, and the humidity 61% giving a dew point of 5°C.
The maximum temperature this day 2017 was 13.5°C and the minimum 6.3°C. Another day of sunshine and wind.
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 17.8°C (real feel 18°C), and the minimum was 9.0°C , a dew point of 11°C. The maximum humidity was 88% and the minimum 48%.

Good morning from Roda. It was clear start to the day, BUT we did have our first frost of the winter. However by just after 10 we were outside basking in the warm sunshine and eating our breakfast. The frost was earlier than last winter when it was 20th December for our first one. Albania was nice and clear across the by now calm sea, and only gentle waves could be heard. There is no wind and our hills and valleys are obscured by layers of smoke from the bonfires from the land under the olives being cleared ready for harvest. The ground needs to be cleared so the nets can go down.
Yesterday was very nice with constant sunshine and only a few clouds. The wind and the waves died right away making it so peaceful when sitting outside. We are far enough from the main road to only get a slight hint of road noise with only emergency vehicles and idiots revving their bikes to occasionally disturb the peace. There was just a so-so sort of sunset leading onto another calm and starlit night. The temperature continued to drop during the evening, heading below 6°C as I went to bed. The temperature at 11.00 am on Friday 7th. December 2018 was 10.4°C, real feel 10°C, and the humidity 73% giving a dew point of 5°C.
The maximum temperature this day 2017 was 13.6°C and the minimum 6.3°C. A day of sunshine and the wind whipping the waves into spume.
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 15.4°C (real feel 15°C), and the minimum was 6.0°C , a dew point of 8°C. The maximum humidity was 64% and the minimum 50%.

Good morning from Roda. It is another very chilly and frosty start to the day. The frost soon melts so if you are a late riser you could well miss it. The day has got increasingly cloudy and what few patches of sun have gone, there are patches of blue around especially to the north. The haze has returned but we can still the full length of visible Albania with its cloud topped peaks. The clouds are not low enough to touch our mountain tops. The sea is quite ruffled but I can hear no waves and we have no real wind either. We seem to have gone from summer to winter in a few short weeks. Though when the sun does come out it is gorgeous if you find a sheltered spot.
After the lovely start we had in the morning, the clouds increased during the afternoon and even hid the sun for a time or two. However we had enough clear sky to give us another of our specialty sunsets. The temperature dropped rapidly once it was dark and we had a cold but clear evening with lots of stars. Luckily the wind stayed away so it wasn't too bad walking back from the village. Gloves and hats not required yet.
The temperature at 10.00 am on Saturday 8th. December 2018 was 10.9°C, real feel 11°C, and the humidity 79% giving a dew point of 8°C.
The maximum temperature this day 2017 was 13.3°C and the minimum 5.2°C. A calm and sunny day.

Good morning from Roda. It was a bit of a wild night with strong winds and the sound of a raging sea. It was a grey windy morning when we woke and the sea was still raging with big waves almost as far as the eye can see. Albania is there across this rough channel with a cap of clouds but some sunshine on its flanks. There are even breaks n the clouds giving some patches of blue. Out of the south facing windows it all looks dark and much grimmer. Although I can just about see a small patch of blue growing. As the morning progresses the wind and waves are starting to ease. The temperature is in the mid teens but feels cooler.
Yesterday was mostly a cloudy day with few patches of anything approaching sunshine. The early morning frost soon melted away as the temperature quickly rose. We had a quick spat of mizzle even as the sun shone. We did have a breezy spell in the late afternoon and the sea did get up a bit. The evening saw the wind die away and be replaced with a very heavy shower. The air cleared such that the lights of Albania shone across the channel. We did manage to get back from the village in the dry but it was raining again with a gathering wind by the end of the evening and the sea was getting noisy. It was quite mild with a temperature of 13°C at the end of the evening. The temperature at 10.00 am on Sunday 9th. December 2018 was 14.3°C, real feel 12°C, and the humidity 77% giving a dew point of 10°C. The maximum temperature this day 2017 was 13.1°C and the minimum 6.6°C. A cloudy wet and stormy day.

Good morning from Roda. It was a bit of a wild night with strong winds, rain, and the sound of a raging sea as well as the thunder and lightning. We awoke to quite to bright but windy morning. There is plenty of sunshine but also enough clouds to hide the sun at times. The sea is an amazing collection of different shades of blues varying from turquoise to deep cobalt all topped with white horse for as far as the eye can see. Despite a high humidity Albania is lovely and clear with clouds caught amongst it highest peaks.
Yesterday wasn't all bad. In the daytime the weather steadily improved to give us some lovely spells of sunshine in the afternoon. The winds also died away and the sea started to calm. There was a pretty decent sunset giving us a lovely starlit sky and we were hopeful of seeing the Geminids shooting star on our way home as they are seen close to Orion that he doesn't get up that early here. However the weather had other plans and the clouds whizzed over to hide the stars and we had a heavy shower of rain. However, we did get home dry but disappointed. It stayed quite mild with the late evening temperature 13°C. The temperature at 10.00 am on Monday 10th. December 2018 was 13.8°C, real feel 13°C, and the humidity 77% giving a dew point of 13°C.

Good morning from Roda. It was a very cold grey but bright start to the day. Our windows were drenched with condensation. There were brighter patches, and as the morning progresses blue patches are growing from the north with sunshine starting to fall on Albania, glinting on the fresh snows on the Albanian peaks. The wind has dropped and the sea is much calmer, though we still have some waves coming ashore. The photo was taken around lunch time yesterday showing the lovely scenery, but what it doesn't show is the very stiff and very bracing wind that was blowing.
Yesterday stayed nice and sunny all day with a good smattering of clouds around. The stiff wind blew all day, which was worst on the unprotected seafront, bracing was a very mild description. The winds blew most of the clouds away to give a monochromatic orange sunset. The temperatures though continued to fall and had reached a chilly 9°C by the end of the evening. The temperature at 10.00 am on Tuesday 11th. December 2018 was 9.2°C, real feel 9°C, and the humidity 86% giving a dew point of 13°C.
The maximum temperature this day 2017 was 14.1°C and the minimum 6.7°C. A cool windy and grey day clearing a bit later.

Good morning from Roda. It is St Spyridon's name day today, a very important day here in Corfu and the saint is being paraded through Corfu town as part of the festivites. It is a lovely very clear, if cold morning here. We have a deep blue sky with only a few clouds around. Every wrinkle on the Albanian mountains is in bright relief across a sea that is echoing the deep blue of the sky. The brilliant white of the snow topping the Albanian peaks is reflected in the foam onto of the waves breaking on our shores. The winds of yesterday have gone so we enjoyed breakfast in our dressing gowns on the balcony.
Yesterday after a very cloudy but bright start the clouds did start to break up, primarily to the north. Eventually as the wind picked up the clouds disappeared and we had an almost cloud free afternoon. The sea were whipped up again into white horses for as far as the eye can see. There was a lovely sunset with Albania being flushed lilac before the sky turned orange before the sun dipped beneath the horizon. We had a clear dark evening with a crescent moon and many stars. Every light could be seen on Albania, I am surprised that I couldn't see car headlights as they seemed so close. For the last two nights we have watched a small very well illuminated ship sail eastwards adding to the overall effect. It was very bracing walking along the sea front, even wet at times as we got splashed by waves breaking on the seawall. It felt a lot chillier than the 11°C at 10.30pm.
The temperature at 10.00 am on Wednesday 12th. December 2018 was 7.2°C, real feel 7°C, and the humidity 78% giving a dew point of 3°C.
The maximum temperature this day 2017 was 16.2°C and the minimum 14.0°C. A cloudy started to the day but ending up sunny with some clouds.
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 13.2°C (real feel 14°C), and the minimum was 3.8°C , a dew point of 9°C. The maximum humidity was 87% and the minimum 61%.

Good morning from Roda. We had overnight rain and were still having spits and spots as we went into town early this morning. Despite the complete cloud cover it is quite bright and clear with Albania firmly fixed on the horizon with a cap of low level clouds across a sea veering from ruffled to choppy with white horses. There is no wind at the moment and still very chilly.
Yesterday after having started off well with lots of blue skies and few clouds, continued like that for the rest of the day with only a few cloudy spells in the afternoon when the sun got trapped behind small clouds. We did get a bit of a breeze kicking off in the afternoon, but it died away by evening. We had another lovely end to the day with Albania turning lilac again before the sun setting in a blaze of flaming orange. The photos don't do it justice. We had another dark starlit night with a waxing crescent moon, lots of stars and that same little ship ploughing eastward along the channel. The temperatures were plummeting, reaching a very chilly 5°C by 10pm.
The temperature at 11.00 am on Thursday 13th. December 2018 was 10.1°C, real feel 10°C, and the humidity 70% giving a dew point of 5°C.

Good afternoon from Roda. Time ran away with us this morning, so the report is a bit late. We had very heavy clouds this morning completely hiding Albania and doing a pretty fair job of hiding our mountains. The sea is calm and we have a light wind stirring the trees. When the clouds really came down the mountain we had rain, when they retreated back up it stopped. We had many cycles of this, but there were hints of blue sky to the west of us and these gradually increased and the rain stopped for quite a while. This allowed us to get out to do some shopping. However the rain wasn't finished with us and we had a very heavy downpour in the early afternoon. The clouds are still hugging the top peaks and valleys. It is a bit warmer than it has been, so the back door is back to being open.
Yesterday was mostly an overcast cloudy day with early morning rain. We had very light winds in the morning and a calm sea, but later on the sea did get quite choppy and we saw some white horses for a while. the clouds did lighten up a bit and we got a hint of a sunset. But any chance of seeing the Geminids up in the north saw spoiled by continuing cloudiness and rain. Apparently they were seen at 6am today in the south of the island as they had a clear sky for a time. It was a chilly evening with the temperature at 10pm a measly 10°C
The temperature at 10.00 am on Friday 14th. December 2018 was 13.8°C, real feel 14°C, and the humidity 83% giving a dew point of 11°C.
