It’s just been announced that Allways Travel are to act as agents for a new Flying Dolphin Service, at least during peak summer months. It seems that hydrofoils will operate a 2.5 hour service between Corfu Town and Otranto, in the Province of Lecce, in southern Italy. Let’s hope the costs are affordable and that it can be booked at agents in Roda ...

This is an interesting development, that part of Italy is well worth exploring, culture, history and good beaches. Otranto itself is an interesting town and the historical centre of Lecce worth a visit. The war graves at Gallipoli, which also has a fine beach resort very busy in August, for avid historians. Old medieval towns like Ticase. There is also very good local wines and food. The whole area called Salento, well worth a google. As Steve says depends on price and of course to travel around you will need a hire car once there.
