Hallo to everyone, This will be our first visit to Corfu and Rhoda in October. I have heard that there is a beer festival in Arillas. It starts the day before we go home. (could be a problem). We would like to visit the festival and we were wondering how to get there from Rhoda. Is it possible. We do not want to hire a car. It would not be a good idea. Hoping someone can help, Thank you.

This is just a guess, but look for NSK Travel’s ad on the front page of our website and contact Pegy. They may well be organising a coach trip from Roda.

Thank you I will try that. I put the post on another forum and Julie replied I could not thank her as it would not let me log in. Can't wait to get there.

I really love Corfu Beer, and think that it is a sin that you can't get it over here. I am very jealous of you if you make it to the beer festival!

I wonder if the reason you can't get the lovely Corfu beer in the UK is that it is fresh beer un-filtered un-pasturised and as such has a short shelf life not suitable for export to UK, maybe?

I am told Wetherspoons had it a guest beer at their 'beer festival' several years ago. I suppose the best thing about not being able to get something like that here in the UK is that it makes it so much better sitting on the deck at Skouna or at a small bar up a winding street in Corfu Town!

It was brewed in Leicestershire but it was brewed by Claudio Mouzakitis who is master brewer at Corfu Beer.

Well it starts today until Sunday. Lord Travel are a sponsor and say buses will run from Acharavi and Roda if at least 40 people. You can say wishing to tgo on website but there are no adverts in the resorts and local travel shops not even run a minibus. Poor show really.
I will go by car and enjoy the food and entertainment and report back later. Plan a trip Thursday and Saturday. A full program is online if you Google.

I made my 1st trip to the Corfu Beer Festival last night and found it well organised, well laid out and well supported. Several food stalls with good variety from souvlaki and gyros to italian bby corfu pasta, pizza by Maistro and vegetarian dishes. Emerald were making foucacia and desserts on site. Other stalls give you tastes of cheese, italian meats, olive oils, wine and ouzo, all of course with the option to buy. There was also stalls with recycle glass items, Corfu Fish Farm, Smile of a Child.
Entry free and also free coffee, nescafe or greek. Beers in centre of marquee both Italian and Corfu beers.
Entertainment last night was, Hellanic Barman competition where they were tested making cocktails in a time limit and judged. Music in background. Then we had a small hheavy rock band, some excellent teenage dancers, an Italian folk group with 2 dancers (this was different and footapping). Folling was more rock with the Splinter Band accompanied by Lisa B, who sure could belt out a song.
A great night and i recommend a visit to anybody visiting Corfu in October. It lasts until Sunday with some different entertainment each nite. I will visit again Saturday.

Well it was a full house in Arillas last night, by 10pm it was so crowded a table for dinner was impossible to find , so a stand up meal it was for many. The whole marquee was crammed, earlier under 8s near the stage but as the night progressed so teenagers and adults moved forward. Even the area out the back by the cocktail bar was crowded and outside the brewery building where the souvlaki was cooking. Youngsters were even sat on the wall to the garage.
Star FM started the evening with a good choice of music. They were followed by traditional Corfiot dancers, they did well with the limited space on stage. Next the Italian folk band were on, different outfits and some different songs but more audience joining in. They even had some Corfiot dancers join their duo to emphasise the Corfu meets Italy theme.
We were then treated to 3 bands who all got the crowd joining in and the place was buzzing. It was a really great night.
Tonight is the last night if you haven't yet visited.

The dates for the 2017 Corfu Beer Festival, Corfu meets the Czech Republic, are 27th September to 1st October inclusive.
This really is a must visit for anyone here on holiday at thst time. Sadly last year nearest pick up for coach travel was Sidari. Hopefully there will be an Acharavi/Roda pick up for at least one of the days this year.

One of the Roda festivals is on, or near to, St John’s Day which is June 24th. I think that’s the one you went to, Dave.
