Roda is easing gently into the holiday season. There are more visitors around, though on the two cool/ wet days the village was exceedingly quiet, everyone must have been sticking to their rooms or hotels. The sunbeds are multiplying on the beach and the seafront bars and restaurants are gaining customers enjoying the warm sun on their decking. Yesterday, as we strolled through the village to and from our breakfast (our Sunday treat) it was good to see the village coming alive. The sun must be getting to some locals as we were delighted to enjoy an impromptu display of Greek dancing from two of the best exponents we know. Nikos, from Yummies, and Kostas, from El Mar, entertaining their late lunch customers, and their families, by dancing in the street in front of El Mar They are still as graceful as ever but maybe not quite as fit as they were before work and families came along. By the way El Mar has been awarded a 4.5 star rating by Trip Advisor, and Nikos at Yummies has been awarded another coveted 5 stars. Well done lads.

28 for me. Don't think we've eaten in El Mar, how long has it been open? It's been 3 years since our last trip.

Wendy this will be El Mar's third summer - their food is amazing and Kostas and Rania are excellent hosts - I'm sure you will love it as much as we do.

My cousin Dave is visiting Roda at the moment. He came to see us in Roda last year during his holiday in Arillas. He liked Roda so much he booked 11 days here this year. We took him to Roda Park for their Greek night. We all had a lovely meal washed down with some very nice Ambelomythi retsina recommended by Yiannis. Here are a few snaps of Kosta, Voula and Xaris dancing ( though not on the street). Kostas had teething problems with his computer on which he had the dance tunes pre-selected. Eventually he got things sorted and everyone had a great time, especially Xaris who had got a bevy of young girls up for dance lessons (sorry no photo, forgot I was using another persons' camera then).
