Well, it seems that this year's prices in the shops, bars, tavernas and restaurants are to be kept at much the same as they were last year ...
(I'll await the 'flak' with trepidation!!!)

Trepidation, indeed, Chris - Alan Smith’s lifestyle is not representative of the vast majority of people. The title is ‘Food & Drink’, but over 80% of what he promotes is drink and, other than the Pumphouse, there is little mention of food. Food prices are very much the same as they’ve been for some time and the larger supermarkets do have a lot of local products. It’s not at all a balanced view.

Oh Good G*d another self-promoting link as to how NOT to enjoy Corfu, especially if you happen to bump into this unbalanced a******e. Good reason to stay away from Oscars and the Pumphouse.

"Good reason to stay away from Oscars and the Pumphouse?"
Not sure I can agree that it is good reason to stay away from anywhere, based on one persons opinion... unless of course he owns both businesses?

Maybe lisydaly will stay away because of his presence more than his opinion, Malc. I’m somewhat inclined to agree with her. Hope you are well ...

Not just my opinion Malc, having known that particular person for 30 years I know when to avoid. We've known George at the Pumphouse for years and I was surprised he even let Mr Smith through the door. The man is a complete a******e as I said and is well known for it. If you enjoy being somewhere where you are likely to be verbally abused and assaulted when he has the drink taken fair play to you. Personally having experienced it, I don't, and neither do many others who have known Mr Smith for years.

Apologies both perhaps you missed the point, yes, I agree a person such as this should be avoided at all costs.
The bit I don't agree with, is saying, stay away from Oscars as being guilty by association I find unfair...
Always use Oscars, while in Roda with the family, and always find it a family friendly place with a great atmosphere...

Accepted Malc - and I was being sarcastic when I said it was a good reason to stay away from both. I'm not a fan of Oscars, never have been, but if I was, and saw him in there, it would be a quick U-turn. The Pumphouse we've been using on and off since time began but again - if I saw him in there with his 'oppos little Al and the other one whose name I can't remember, same thing - U-turn. Mr Smith knows full well my opinion of him, and has done for years, and no amount of crawling and fake apologies by him will alter things, but - if you don't know him, you can't judge. Enjoy Roda - only wish I could, but back, hip, and 'no flying or else' rule won't allow it.

One wonders how Mr Smith gets home to Agios Panteleimonas from his favourite watering hole. It’s a long way to walk!
