Looks more and more like we'll have to cancel our room booking at the Pegasus in favour of a package. We've booked our room for mid September but Easyjet's prices are steep to say the least, outbound is always around the £50 mark but the return price is ranging from £158 to £188. Just checked again & 2 return flights are coming in at £576, add the hotel cost to that & it's working out cheaper to book a package, it might just be me being cynical but I suspect the low cost airlines are loading up the cost of travel to "safe" destinations.

You may be right Alan but return flights towards the end of the season are always expensive if you don't book them as soon as the dates are released, it's a case of supply & demand, the flight operators know that a lot of the workers will be returning to the U.K. so the prices rise accordingly. pete.

I think you are right there; they were only saying today on the radio how bookings to Egypt, Tunisia, Morocco, Turkey are dropping in favour of Portugal, Spain and Greece and even long haul. They then went on to say that prices in in Portugal and Spain in particular would increase and that people should book early especially if they want to chose accommodations or wait for last minute and take your pick of what is left.

What Pete says is correct. I booked the at 7.15am on the day the end of season timetable came out and by the time my booking went throughout 7.30am the price had already increased. Having said that when we looked at booking Flight only with travel company the price no matter what time of the tourist season was twice the price of the dearest amount we have ever paid on Easyjet. Our return flight from Bristol for two was just over £300 in September.

We priced up our flights on the day they were released but unfortunately couldn't get on until early evening, by that time the prices were along the lines of what they are now & have only fluctuated slightly since then. Looks like it might just be Manchester prices that are silly as Gatwick was a lot cheaper and Thomsons from Leeds Bradford is working out cheaper than their Manchester flights.

I'm not sure what time of day they are released but for next year I'll be looking even earlier than I did this time round.

Just a couple of tips that you all probably know, always delete your "cookies" when you've been looking at prices otherwise they follow what you are looking at and the more you look the more the price may go up. Never enter the exact date that you want to fly, put in a date a week or two away then look at the "3 week view" there will usually be a cheaper flight than the date you entered. pete.

Well we've finally managed to book a flight at a not so much cheap price but an acceptable price. we have had to give the Saturday return flight a miss as it was way too expensive, but never mind 7 nights instead of 8 is something we can go with and at the end of the day we have got it cheaper going independent than we could with any travel company. Roll on September.

We booked when flights were released from Bristol, the last couple of years we have found it a lot cheaper to fly out on a Friday and come back on a Monday rather than friday to friday. In fact this year flying out fri 19 Aug coming home mon 5 sep is nearly £240 cheaper more than enough to cover extra days holiday. wally

Booked our outbound flights for June, last September, before the inbound had been released. Booked the inbound on the day the flights were released and they went up by £20 whilst I was deliberating which day to book. The same flight now is double the price we paid. All in all, for 4 of us (adults) at Paradise Village, 12 nights, and return Manchester flights, is around £1700. I doubt a package would be any cheaper. You really do have to get in early with the flights, they increase in seconds!
