I understand that flamingoes have put in an appearance recently in Alikes, in the south of Corfu. I’m not sure we’ll get there this year, but this beauty was happily feeding near the road, when we passed through the Camargue in March, en route for Roda.

I take it there isn't much shrimp in and around the kerkyra coastlines this flamingo is missing its trademark pink hue, either that or it's an adolescent xx

Sorry, Kelly, the flamingo was photographed in the Camargue, not Corfu. Here’s another photo with a typical house from that region in the background.

Went to Tigaki on Kos a few years back and holiday was spoiled by huge amounts of mossies and flies caused by the salt pans outside not being drained because of the flamingoes. The locals were totally devastated by this but couldn't do anything as Athens had declared the area a wildlife reserve. Totally spoiled a great resort with fantastic people.
