Steve's knee is getting a little better, so we had a gentle walk around the village last night, rather than our quick foray to our preferred watering holes. The new doctors' surgery in the former Mistral Bar is looking very smart and is run by the Mastoras family who run the private general clinic in Corfu Town. The family originated from Orthoni and are very well regarded in the medical community, and it is Stella Masteras who runs the microbiology clinic in Acharavi. Walking past Roda Park restaurant, which was still in full swing at 11pm, we noticed that Nikos Family Taverna have put some tables on the side of the road opposite the restaurant which looked very inviting. This is in addition to their Thursday evening Greek nights as previously reported here by JoolsD as being a great night out. Further down the road that part of the former Roda Crown, next to the fish spa, has opened up as a clothing shop selling dresses and T- shirts. We are presuming it is run by the Agas family, but will try and confirm that, it is possibly an offshoot of the shop at the Roda crossroads. It is good to see that new ventures are starting in the village even in these uncertain times.

It appears that we have a new shop opened up at the crossroads in the block that has ACS and the The Olive Taverna. It looks like it is a shop selling very prettily packaged traditionally made soap. I am usually too busy at the crossroads as I do the driving and there are idiots to avoid for me to notice much, but we will check it out next time we are passing today. Watch this space for the latest news.

Didn't Nikos (of George and Dragon location) have a business that made soaps etc? Antony

We didn’t know that, Antony, but it would make sense.
