Good Morning,
My Family and I have taken our holidays in Corfu every year for the last 10 years. We would all meet up in Corfu and spend two or three weeks together. As one of the family drove down from Prague every year, we had the benefit of a car to explore the island. This year however, the kids have all grown up and I will be taking a 'normal' package holiday with my mother and daughter and her friend.
We have always stayed in the Roda area and will be doing so again in August, I would dearly love to show my Mum some of the lovely places we have visited over the years and bring back a few memories myself.
I would like to take her to Corfu Town for an afternoon and evening and also to take her to Paleokastrita and Bella Vista, My daughter wants to do the usual Aquapark trip and maybe find a sandy beach with shallow waters and a few waves !
Do the Local buses run from Roda to any of these places or would it be better to book through a local tour operator or taxi ? Any suggestions for a beach for my daughter? I seem to recall Ag.Stefanos was nice.
I may have to just hire a car and submit to getting us dreadfully lost !

Hi Elaine and welcome to the forum. As driving (and finding a parking space) in Corfu town is not for the fainthearted I would recommend a trip we did a few years ago - an evening trip, by boat, to Corfu town. We were taken from roda by coach to kassiopi where we met the boat. We arrived in Corfu town early evening and had enough time for a mooch around the shops and had time for a meal too. We found it more enjoyable walking around the town in the cool of the evening. We then had a lovely trip back to kassiopi by boat and on to roda by coach.
