Just thought I would say I have never seen a write up for the Tropicana, we have spent many many nights over the years enjoying the company of Tim. Tele (spelt wrong) Camilla who is now a Mum.
Services Food and entertainment are extremely good.
Will be seeing you again next year.

I agree you always get a warm welcome at the Trop summer or winter. I had heard that they were moving this winter to a more central place within the village - any idea where or if its true ? if true, that spot will never look the same

According to Tellis last week the Trop is closing on or before 17th October and is to be re-located but as yet they don't know where to. Won't be the same without the Trop on the corner - we remember it from when it was just a small bar with a very wonky pool table outside (about 1978). Always had a warm welcome, winter or summer.

Agree with above comments....it just wont be the same.
Watched many of the 2006 World Cup matches at the trop......so the Grandkiddies could play in their childrens area.
I remember the Greek dancers there in 1988/89...Stallios and Illios, they were great. Stallios' Mum owned the bar at the time, we used to sit eating walnuts picked from the tree at the back. Illios eventually went on to dance at Nimfes where I think he lived. Maggie was also at the Trop years ago.

We were at the last night of the Trop on Sunday.....was all rather sad, but a good fun night. Ended up with a few souveniers. Had a drink with Telli, Monday night....said he was seeing an 'architect' about a 'new' property....but didn't divulge where as yet....will let you know if and when I hear anything else

Hi Anita
Isn't that now a bicycle shop? Last year we heard that they were going next door to where the jewellers is, but even that has now changed. Any news and we'll let you know.

Hi Petra.
The guy in the waistcoat looks possible.....he didn't have such big hair in 1988. I will route out some photos and scan them in when I get chance.

We think the 'trop' will still be there Sue, but what it will look like and who will be running it is still unsure.
