Hi, My wife and I are staying at the Milton Hotel for 15 nights from the 25th July! Does anyone know it well and is it far to the centre? We have preloaded travel cards, are the atms still functioning as normal with all the banking difficulties in the mainland going on!
Thanks
Gregg

Hi Greg, the Hotel Milton is situated about 100m from the crossroads, from there it is a very short stroll to all the bars, shops & restaurants and a 7/8 minute walk down to the beach. The Milton is a small hotel set in nice grounds with a nice secluded pool. All the ATM's are working fine with no limits on U.K. card withdrawals, I took 300 euros out this morning. pete.

Thanks pete, lots of the usual scaremongering by the British press! Nice to know the ATMS are functioning as normal! Very much looking forward to next Saturday now! We are huge admirers of the Greek Isles! This being our 12th year of visiting different islands! We havent been to Corfu for 9 years so looking forward to coming back! It sounds like Roda has a lovely village feel to it? Are there other villages nearby that could be visited on foot or possibly by quad/boat? Gregg

Hi Greg, there are lots of places that are in walking distance, the easiest being Acharavi, just a stroll along the beach heading east, the villages of Platonas, Sfakera and Karoussades are all walkable although it's a bit on the warm side at the moment so you might be better off with some transport. As long as you've got enough petrol you'll not get lost!! There are boats to hire on the sea front at Sam's Boats, I think you're allowed to sail as far as Sidari in one direction and to the headland at Almiros in the other direction. pete.
