What do you suppose the atm's will be filled with? The banks will not be issuing cash to put into them. The exchange bureaux will also stop issuing euros in the short term- once the atm's are empty watcn their rates soar as the competition from the bank machines disappears. They will certainly protect their interests so as to maximise their profits. Get plenty of euros in the Uk. What about petrol? hire a car with an empty tank at your peril. And watch out for the forthcoming emergency rates of Vat which will be added to your restaurant/bar bills (cash only accepted) Scaremongering...Your comments about the exchange bureaux's are not factual or realistic and in my opinion very rude. This is a resort where people return year after year and because of its size get to know the locals very well. Yes, people are here to make money but not at the expense of ripping off tourists and they wouldnt last here very long if they did. Also your last comment makes me laugh, "What about petrol? hire a car with an empty tank at your peril" It makes me wonder if you work for the BBC, The Sun or perhaps even the Spanish Tourist Board? Oh yes, you may have wanted to finish off with "Don't have nightmares, do sleep well" See you soon Roda...

The only propaganda on this issue is to discourage people holidaying abroad and encouraging people to keep/spend their money in the UK. Once again trying to get the common people to bail out the gov and the bankers.

All I can say from personal experience, is that when I visited Roda in October last year, I got 1.09 euros to the pound .as the father of the bride, who's daughter is getting married in Roda in August, I am watching the exchange rate vigilantly! On Monday morning the exchange rate was 1.41. I had to exchange so much my eyes watered! I believe the difference in rates in 8 months has offset any rise in rate applied by anybody in the current issue. Plus i have calculated that I have had approximately 1800 euros extra, than I would have had last October. I've been told today that anybody with an international debit card can withdraw any amount. ( if the atm allows.) I hope a conclusion is in sight for all parties. I LOVE GREECE !!

Demand on ATMs is higher, so they are not always filled quickly enough. The main Alphabank in Acharavi seems to hold larger quantities and is probably refilled more often. Most people seem to be bringing their euros with them, which is currently the best option. Agencies in the village still have euros to exchange and shops & restaurants are still taking card payments.

I thought Steve's answer was perfectly understandable - maybe you should re-read ! Your question could almost be re-phrased "how long is a piece of string?"

I can’t go to each of the four ATMs every day and put in my card to see if each of them has money. I can only rely on what others tell me and give you an overview.

As usual Steve gives concise accurate information, based on his personal experience of Roda, his only aim is to aid travellers to the Isle, and to enhance there holiday on Corfu. Keep up the good work pal !!!!
