Zoom in on the legs, Pete - what colour are they? It could be a Stint or a Sandpiper, maybe a juvenile. There’s another Sandpiper around too - one with shorter legs and striped wings - we’ve seen them a few times, often three together.

It’s confusing, Pete - the head is very much that of a Wood Sandpiper which could be migrating to Russia. The legs though, would be more yellow. Maybe it’s a Redshank.

No doubts about this one - an adult grey heron ducking under the flightpath at Kanoni on Saturday.
