All but the dirtiest of stop-outs would have been tucked up safely in bed before the thunderstorm last night, and it is acknowledged that much of the rain we read about in forecasts for Corfu comes overnight. This tail-end of the recent Italian storms arrived at 4:30 am, & lasting about an hour, it is drifting slowly away this morning towards the mainland with blue sky emerging in the west.
Yesterday, there were a couple of occasions when clouds started to appear, before evaporating again to give, on balance, a calm warm day. The afternoon sea breeze seemed to do what it always does for Roda … clear away the humidity and give us warm evenings and gorgeous sunsets.
The readings for today, Sunday 21st June, at 9.30am are:- Temperature 20.4°C with humidity 85% and falling.
Yesterday's maximum temperature in Roda was 26°C and the minimum overnight was down to 18.6°C, the maximum humidity was 73% and the minimum 46%.
In spite of all that cloud, the UV is still expected to be 8, something of a paradox that we’ll try to explain later.

At 10:00 am this morning, the temperature is a bit up on yesterday and the humidity is much lower – so a completely different feel to the day. The seas have calmed and the wind fallen away almost completely after a vigorous few hours overnight.
Yesterday, it was that wind which swept away the morning cloud to give us white horses, clean air but slightly lower temperatures ... a good day for photographs. In the sun, and with clear air of course, the full force of the UV could be felt, so it was very pleasant. It was the coolest night since June 4th.
The readings for today, Monday 22nd June, at 10:00am are:-
Temperature 22.8°C with humidity 63%.
Yesterday's maximum temperature in Roda was 23.1°C and the minimum overnight was down to 18.1°C.
The maximum humidity was 87% and the minimum 58% ... quite a differential.
Skin types are classified as ‘burners’, ‘tanners’, ‘naturally brown’ or ‘naturally black.’ Most UK indigenous groups are ‘burners’ so please take care of yourselves today where our UV will be even higher, at 9.

There is a certain breeze in the trees this morning that bodes well for a good day. The skies are more or less clear with just a few ‘fluffies’ off to the south. It’s been cooler of late but I think that might be changing.
Yesterday, any early clouds were swept away by a strengthening wind, but it gave us a very clear day and spectacular sea colouring. It was a comfortable day that disguised the danger from high UV – I’d expect to find a few pink shoulders in Roda today. The softness of the evening light was wonderful, with Albania looking like pink marshmallow floating on an inky sea, but it was the coldest night for three weeks.
The readings for today, Tuesday 23rd June, at 10:30am are:- Temperature 22.4°C with humidity 68%.
Yesterday's maximum temperature in Roda was 23.8°C and the minimum overnight was down to 17.2°C.
The maximum humidity was 70% and the minimum 61% ... much the same as the day before.
UV today is again forecast to be as high as 9. Up to this time of day is the best time to sunbathe as the UV is only half of that figure. It is on the rise now, so do take care. At the moment, the dewpoint is within acceptable levels so the there should be no discomfort from humidity levels.

Even though there’s another hot one in prospect, it is slightly cooler than normal in Corfu this June. Clear air, light winds and a high UV compensate, unless the wind increases or a cloud passes over. It demonstrates that temperature alone is not the key issue … ask anyone who has stayed in the winter when you can be wearing three layers one moment, and stripping off as you step into the sun.
It happened early yesterday afternoon, as the afternoon picked up sharply and disturbed the few clouds hiding in the wings. They obscured the sun for a few minutes and the temperature seemed to plummet. Ten minutes later, it was business as usual and a faultless afternoon. In the evening there was barely a breeze, with slashes of becalmed water across the sea and wood-smoke lingering in the air. Ten minutes later, the fire brigade turned out in force – hope it wasn’t Pete’s barby!
The temperature this morning at 9:30am is 21.5°C, and the humidity is 60%%.
Yesterday's maximum temperature in Roda was 24.2°C and the minimum overnight was down to 16.1°C, for the first time since June 2nd.
The maximum humidity was 72% and the minimum 53% ... the air being very stable since our storm.
UV will be 9 again today, either in spite or because of a little high cloud. Dewpoint remains within the comfort band, and again, it will feel a little warmer than it actually is. You wouldn’t want the pink shoulders I saw yesterday, so please take care! The sun is deceptively strong at the moment.

This morning’s light clouds to the south are building a little, but there is the definite feel of an increasing north-westerly wind, which should see them off.
Yesterday started hazily and, as is usual, the moisture in the atmosphere built up towards lunchtime. At that point, normally, the afternoon sea breeze kicks in and we get that 30 minutes or so of uncertainty as everything changes. The breeze yesterday seemed to be a bit reluctant and we were starting to feel a few drops of rain in the air, but the stubborn clouds finally took a hint and broke up or went away. They built up again in the evening, but mostly over the Albanian mainland.
The readings for today Thursday, 25th June, at 9.30am are:- temperature 22.5°C and humidity 75%.
Yesterday's maximum temperature was 26.7°C and the minimum 19.4°C, making it a warmer evening. The maximum humidity was 83% and the minimum 67%.
The reported UV is ‘High’ at 8 and the wind will contrive to make things feel a little cooler, so plenty of high-factor creams please.

This morning, it’s beautifully clear & sunny, but with a few high streaks of cloud to the north and west of Roda. The sea has calmed down since yesterday. Having said that, many of these systems linger for around three days and it would be no surprise to see the winds return later.
Yesterday, that north-westerly breeze strengthened throughout the day making it feel cooler in the afternoon than it actually was. The temperature in Roda reached 24.2°C and the minimum overnight was 18.0°C, but the wind on the coast may have shaved a degree or two off the way that felt.
The maximum humidity yesterday was 75% and the minimum 46%.
The readings for today, Friday 26th June, at 9:20am are:- Temperature 22.0°C with humidity 66%.
The UV forecast is 9 – it is so easy to get burned in these conditions, so please take care.

The day is starting well in Roda, with clear blue skies and moderate humidity. Mountains & mainland are both looking clear and the waves have thankfully abated.
Yesterday provided a surprise for me as, in my experience, I have never known the actual temperature go down at the height of the afternoon. There had been high cloud around the fringes all morning and the afternoon wind got up with a vengeance but, disregarding the obvious wind-chill, the temperature at 2:30pm actually dropped to 22.4°C and the wind-chill made it feel even colder. Thankfully, everything eased later and we should be back to normal today.
The maximum humidity yesterday was 70% and the minimum 59%, so all within reasonable limits.
The readings for today, Saturday 27th June, at 10:00am are:- Temperature 22.2°C with humidity 63% - almost identical to yesterday.
For some reason, the UV forecast for today is down to 7 – still classified as ‘moderate to high,’ but where some unprotected skin types can burn in as little as 10 minutes – take care please!

It’s warm in Roda this morning but there is plenty of high, hazy cloud which is obscuring the sun a little. The wind has dropped and Albania is just visible.
Yesterday felt a warmer day than Friday, even though the actual temperatures were much the same – it just felt more agreeable, as the dew-point was 16, which is roughly midpoint in the comfort band. The temperature in Roda reached 23.5°C, but feeling warmer by a degree or two, and the minimum overnight was 18.2°C. The maximum humidity yesterday was 67% and the minimum 46%.
The readings for today, Sunday 28th June, at 10:00am are:- Temperature 22.6°C with humidity 66% - almost the same every day at the moment.
The UV stands again at 7 today with a moderate to high risk of burning.

It’s a very still and hazy morning in Roda, the sea is calm and Albania is but a memory. In spite of the mixture of clear skies and high cloud yesterday, it was a warm and delightful day. With the dew point approaching 20°C, we were edging towards that point where you begin to feel ‘sticky,’ especially if you did any more than lounge on a sunbed. Early evening brought some more serious cloud over the mainland and the odd rumble could be heard for a time.
The daytime temperature reached 24.4°C, about 4°C lower than the average for this time of year. Last night, the temperature dropped to 18.9°C, which is exactly average for late June. It seems that the sea is being warmed by the high UV, even though daytime air temperatures are a little lower.
The readings for today, Monday 29th June, at 9:30am are:- Temperature 22.1°C with humidity 74% - maybe another slightly sticky day ahead, so drink lots of water.
At 7, the UV is still hovering on the borderline of moderate/high – about as strong as it ever gets in the UK – lots of sunscreen please.

This morning has started a little oppressively … misty & hazy, but with blue streaks in the high cloud. It is bright, and calm, but the day looks less than promising.
Yesterday was a little strange too, as though something is building up, with clouds around in the late morning and thundery-looking over the obscured mainland by early evening. Then the wind freshened and it all cleared away. The temperature in Roda reached 24.7°C, and the minimum overnight was 19.8°C. The maximum humidity yesterday was 75% and the minimum 56%.
The readings for today, Tuesday 30th June, at 10:00am are:- Temperature 23.4°C with humidity 71%. The UV today is forecast to be 7 – don’t be fooled by the cloud, you can still get burned.

The weather is certainly a bit indecisive here at the moment. We are having some great days, but it’s never straightforward. The sea was calm yesterday in the early afternoon, then it looked as though there was a maistro starting up with lots of white horses, then it all went calm again. The whole of St. George’s Bay seemed to be clear, but all around were clouds – Roda certainly gets the best weather! By early evening, there were more serious clouds along the Corfu Channel and thunder over the Balkans. From the ‘red sky at night,’ you might have assumed that it was not going to be a good day today, but this morning is clear and sunny again. There are residual clouds over Sarande, but maybe any drops of rain will head to Kassiopi.
The temperature today at 9:30, Wednesday July 1st, is 22.8°C and the humidity is 64%.
Yesterday reached 25.8°C, dropping to 18.5°C overnight.
The humidity rose to 74%, with the lowest being 63%.
UV today has shot up again to 9, so ‘burners’ beware, especially younger people.

Yesterday started bright and clear with the mainland semi-visible through the haze. There were clouds to the east over Sarande, which spread further across the bay as the day progressed. There was little afternoon wind, and with the dew-point edging up the scale, it was a time for doing nothing. The evening saw clouds of grey and pink over the mountains. The daytime temperature reached 25.4°C and the humidity was kind at 69% and the minimum 44%.
The readings for today Thursday, 2nd, July, at 10:00am are:-
Temperature 23.4°C and humidity 68%.
The overnight low was 18.6°C, so everyone’s sleeping well at the moment.
The reported UV is ‘High’ at 9, double that on offer in London yesterday where the temperature got into the 30s. At 10:00 am here in Corfu, we are probably receiving as much UV as London did yesterday at its peak. and it is the UV that burns, so don’t be fooled by the temperatures. Please take care …

At 10:00 am this morning, the temperature is a bit up on yesterday but the humidity is much the same – so a great day in prospect. The sea is very calm as an Italian ferry steams sedately north along the coast of a barely visible Albania.
Yesterday was just about perfect … not too hot in the daytime, pleasantly warm at night, no clouds, moderate humidity and just the lightest of afternoon breezes.
The readings for today, Friday 3rd July, at 10:00am are:-
Temperature 23.4°C with humidity 69%.
Yesterday's maximum temperature in Roda was 25.5°C and the minimum overnight was down to 19.6°C, so edging up now towards the seasonal average.
The maximum humidity was 77% and the minimum 55% ... fairly comfortable.
Today’s UV is forecast to be down a fraction at 8 – but it’s still high, so take care.

The sea inshore is flat calm this morning, with clear signs of a breeze a little further out, across the length of St. George’s Bay. Let’s hope than breeze reaches the land later as it’s eerily quiet and the temperature is certainly rising.
Yesterday was another perfect day in Roda, with just a few fluffy clouds around at the middle of the day … a perfect day in paradise! The seas were calm and so were the winds and it was still very warm at 5pm – the best time for sunbathing as the UV would have started to fall by then and there would be less risk of burrning.
At 10:00 am this morning, Saturday July 4th, the temperature was 24.9°C and rising quickly. The humidity was steady at 71%.
Yesterday's maximum temperature in Roda was 25.2°C and we’re now at that level already today. The minimum overnight was down to 21°C exactly, a big rise from last week.
The maximum humidity was 74% and the minimum 49% ... all very reasonable.
The dew-point today already stands at 19C, very close to where we start to feel clammy. The UV will be back to 9 again today, meaning that it will feel a warmer than it actually is. It may be a hot one!

It’s another blissfully blue and sunny morning in Roda, with a slight ripple on the sea and Albania a shadow of its former self.
Yesterday’s temperature peaked at around 3:30pm, with a nice breeze to lower the humidity that was making it feel a little warmer than its high of 28.2°C. The minimum overnight temperature was 20.6°C, so a very pleasant evening in the village. Even the fishing boats went out later, with two heading across St George’s Bay in the pink glow of sunset – quite magical!
The maximum humidity yesterday was 73%, dropping to 57% with that light breeze.
At 9:55 this morning of the referendum in Greece, Sunday, July 5th, the temperature is already up to 25°C and the humidity is 67%.
The UV is again 9 today – very easy to get burned, so please be careful.
