Good news for Corfu, cuthbert, let's hope other destinations follow suit - I'd hate to fly on an airline with only one airport!! I see also that things are moving along with Kapodistrias airport, bidding for which should be finalised by next year.

Was there not an AirSea Service from Bari or Brindisi at one time to Corfu. Did not last for long for various reasons.

Any idea where the seaplanes will operate from, Cuthbert? - this was their old terminus in Gouvia Marina in 2008:

It was posted today on line that it looks like the new sea plane airport is to be in Corfu Town to the NW of the port, with a new desalination plant and new road access. The initial flights are to be within the islands of Corfu and Paxos. Hopefully spreading out to Crete and the Aegean. Will try and post the link when my brain wakes up!

It does sound as though the seaplane waterway will be somewhere between Gouvia and the main port and I wonder if access will be near to the main traffic lights by Lidl.

Not long ago, it seemed that the proposed seaplane link to Corfu was way behind schedule, but that seems to have changed. This is the latest announcement:
