Surely it's time to renew/update the map. After all, imitation is the highest form of flattery.

It is time, Kath, and I do agree, but it’s a little more than imitation.

Hard to get lost in Roda you just ask -the best people ever you can meet will help you.

I must be labouring under the misapprehension that Roda Online is meant to provide up to date and useful information to visitors (particularly new) to our website and favourite village. I remain of the opinion that it would serve this purpose better were it updated - I further agree that it will inevitably result in subsequent plagiarism by (P), but the "positive" outcome of this would be that even more visitors would have up to date information for the village. Maybe it's just me!

RodaOnline is completely voluntary, Kath, and, other than administrators, there is a distinct shortage of volunteers. The Roda Map was created before the meteoric rise of Google maps which most people use today. The question is, what are people asking for? Do they want a map of the streets, as in Google, or do they want to locate each & every one of our businesses on a street plan of Roda? If it is the latter, then it is almost an impossible task to get enough detail on to a 1000 pixel page. The map can be successfully created externally, but it becomes unreadable when it’s loaded up. In addition, a map like this requires constant attention as Roda changes every year - this year alone, there are new and defunct businesses. It is not just a project to make one map, it is an ongoing commitment. Perhaps someone can volunteer, or suggest an alternative ... this website belongs to us all.
