It's 11pm and it's dry and windless in Roda tonight, but further north there is the most spectacular storm. You can just hear the continuous rumble of thunder and the light show from Roda is amazing.

Looks like the storm we flew into prior to being shot down at Corfu Airport on the 1/2 September.

This storm was far more violent than the one on September 1st, norm, but luckily Corfu missed it and we were treated to one of the most spectacular displays I've ever seen. It moved around for hours and we did get a little rain, but it seems that Croatia bore the brunt, and their Prime Minister said the whole of the country was affected. Bear in mind that they are still reeling from May's flooding, the worst for 120 years. The centre of the storm now seems to have moved north over Hungary.

Steve must have gone to bed early last night!! We were stuck in Oscar's at 02:00hrs, one of the biggest & best storms I've seen in over 20 years, the road outside was like a river & the whole building was shaking, the lightning - sheet & forked - made it look like daylight at times!! pete.

You're going to the wrong bar, Pete - We really didn't get much rain on this side of Roda. This morning, our balconies were dry, as were my gardening shoes and all the plant-pot trays. At first, I didn't think it had rained at all and I dug the last of my garden - impossible if we'd had that amount. It just shows how local these storms can be ...

You must have been very lucky to not get the rain, our garden was flooded when we got home although it had drained away by this morning, been looking at videos from all over the island of last night's weather & cricket in Corfu Town was called off today ! pete.

It must have been very localised, Pete - even one of your near neighbours had very little rain. What a mix of experiences!
