We here in Bournemouth and Poole, have views like this all over the conurbations. In our public parks, car parks, sports fields, all entered under forced entry, break ins, leaving their filthy waste, including human waste. They are called Travellers, and are protected by a stupid law given out by an English Judge 20 years ago. So we have to wait for court actions which take upto 10 days. They left my local sports fields and parkland in a dreadful state.
Sorry should not be on here I know, but like me most of us are getting so frustrated as our councils do not do anything.

Yes it is nice to see as we are avid caravaners BUT where do they leave their toilet waste ? there is Roda camping just after the crossroads where they have all the facilities for caravans/mobile homes. Also we know the campsite well and would rather see them use it and give them some well needed custom as it is not the busiest of places.

I may have misinterpreted the photo - I didn't think they had "set up camp" - I thought they'd just parked up whilst visiting the village for the day. I don't think they are the sort of "travellers" we encounter in the UK.

The three campers were Greek and they were here for about three days. I think that Roda could set a trend by catering for such people who now increasingly come to Corfu since the Egnatia Highway was built to Igoumenitsa.
There are many such places in France (Aire de camping-car stationnement) and in Italy (Aree di sosta camper). Across Germany, France and Italy there are several thousand parking spaces and the notion is spreading across Europe. Why not Greece ... ?
In general, there is usually a supply and disposal station for fresh and waste water, plus waste bins near to the parking space. Increasingly available are power points obtainable with a locally bought token. I understand Gil's point entirely, but if Roda became known as a camper destination, Roda Camping would gain massively as many would also want to stay on well-managed sites with all their in-built facilities. One day, maybe ...
