If anyone can make you fall in love with Roda, it is the Goddess of Love herself - Afroditi. Our very own Afroditi Hotel, maybe the most prominent hotel in the village, has now joined Roda Online. For more, see:

Can anyone tell me if there is a kettle in the room at Aphroditi? Also, are you able to hire a fan from the hotel or anywhere in the village? Not keen on air conditioning and a fan keeps the mozzies away from the bed!

Hi 2nd timer There are no kettles in the rooms at the Afroditi. They do have air con and a fridge the fridge is 10 euros a week not sure about the aircon as we never use it but there is a supermarket in Acharavi about 5 mins away from Roda where we saw one on a stand for 20 euros cant say whether I saw any in Roda but I'm sure Steve or someone will know if they do.

Hi 2nd timer - just to add to Gil's post above - Acharavi is 5 mins away from Roda - but only if you have a car.
I must confess I haven't seen any fans for hire (the travel shops used to have them years ago I seem to remember but that may have been in the days before air-con was more widely available).
regards, Kath.

Thanks for reply Gil. I did e-mail Aphrodite a few days ago about a late check out room but haven't had a reply, so I thought, as everyone seems very helpful on the forum, it might be better to post here.

Many hotels and other rooms do frown on the use of fans as they get paid so little by the tour operators. Some are more approachable than others. The best way to keep mozzies away from the bed, is to keep them out of the bedroom altogether. There are several simple things you can do to achieve this and neither aircon nor fans should then be necessary.
