Yes Gil, I don't imagine it would be open during the day - sure Steve will be along to let us know how its doing.

I'm confused Kath - it's my age - we've talked about a few bars and I'm not sure which one you're asking about. Steve

Has anyone been to the new bar JJ's yet? Surely someone can tell us how it is doing in its first season.

I know someone who went there last week and said that it was a really great venue with lots of excellent facilities, pool tables etc and all for free (assuming you have a drink of course) but when they went they were the only ones in there. They said the owner told them it wasn't as busy as they would hope but that it is used by local people as well. Like a lot of things in Roda (and everywhere else for that matter) it's location, location, location that matters. If it was on the front close to Pirates Bar for instance (I know there isn't room but you know what I mean) - I expect it would do really well, but nobody really ventures up that far, rightly or wrongly. I hope they do well as everyone deserves to be a success, particularly after all their hard work.

At last! I must confess that was my main concern about the new bar - its location. Lets hope they can make a success of it despite its location. Thanks for the info.
regards, Kath

No disrespect to the owner, I feel that the business model is wrong. I can't imagine many holiday makers will be frequenting the premises at night, it will most likely be locals using the facilities, who are unwinding from the day of being at work? Could well be wrong, doesn't seem my kind of thing - I know everyone's needs out of a holiday are totally different. Personally all my evenings comprise of is a meal and a post meal drink then home, don't usually think of fitting in a game of pool afterwards. Each to their own, I wish the owner all the luck in the world with his or her venture I hope they can make it work for them.
