Hello All
Just booked a holiday to Roda today.
I am going for 10 nights on 2nd May 14 and will be staying at Kostas. Very good deal with Olympic.
This will be first time to Roda but went to Corfu once before in May 2010 and stayed in Sidari.
I loved Corfu and didn't dislike Sidari but it was the island rather than the resort that really made the holiday.
I would appreciate any advice you can give me. Last time I went I did coach/boat trips to Parga & Paxos, Albania, Kassiopi and Corfu by night. The highlight was an island tour trip I did on the last full day which included Paleokastri (not sure how its spelt!)
What I would really like to know is
1) Is it as easy to book organised coach/boat trips from Roda as Sidari? I know I'm going early May very start of season but I went the same week in 2010 (general elecction was on) and all the trips were running.
2) There were scores of restaurants/bars in Sidari and most open even in early May. I appreciate Roda is somewhat smaller however only really need 1 decent taverna and a couple of welcoming bars to make a holiday - will I find those in Roda?
3) The Kosmas are descrived as 800 metre to main resort - I take that as 1/2 mile or not quite a 10 minute walk - is that a fair judgement?
Any advice much appreciated.

I think the times & distances from Kosmas are fairly accurate petertd - and welcome to the forum. Most businesses in most resorts open at the start of the season ... it is at the end that some will close due to lack of trade. Roda actually has lots of businesses open throughout the winter, so no problem finding bars or restaurants. The trips and excursions vary a little each year, but we are well represented in Roda and will find something that suits your plans.
