Hi Pete I had the directions to get there once but never got to go it looks spectacular and will put in on our list for July. I was told that the waterfall is not always as spectacular as your pics is it because of the recent rain fall. ?

That's a great video Gil, it looks much bigger than what we saw yesterday, I'll have to find out if it's the same place. It is purely down to the rainfall finding it's way down the mountains so there is probably nothing to see in the summer. We were quite high up so maybe the video was taken farther down, hence it looking far more spectacular than my photos, I'll ask around and report back. pete.

We went back to Nymphes this morning and followed a couple of different "roads", just as hair raising but we didn't find another waterfall, I spoke to Costas from Roda Park when we got back and he confirmed that we had been to the right place, whoever took that video must have climbed down a very steep bank to get to the bottom of the waterfall, ok going down maybe but I wouldn't fancy the climb back up. pete.

Hi Pete This is the text taken from the person who posted the video on youtube so I'm not 100% sure if it is or not but about 2 years ago I was told about it as we past the sign many times but never went to see it as we are always there in the summer it's said that it is only a trickle until the heavy rainfall. It has now given me a shot in the arm to make an effort to see it.
Taken from the translated text on youtube The cascade of the nymphs is situated in North Corfu. Nymfes is a village of 800 inhabitants and an altitude of 200 m. In the mountainous volume of Pantokratora. cataract throughout the rainy season is particularly spectacular as it falls from a height of at least 17 meters from the central square of the village of nymphs follow the dirt road that goes to the stadium. At three kilometers and after a closed right turn an incredibly captivating image will be stretched out in front of you the sound of water that falls from above, in combination with the landscape will impress you.

That description of the route sounds the same as we took Gil, the football stadium appears out of nowhere, it could be a bit dodgy in the tourist season as it's a very very narrow "road", if you met some oncoming traffic there are very few passing places, I'll have to go again in the springtime to see if I can spot a nymph or two ! pete.

Spectacular! I've a feeling we've been close as I remember seeing the stadium but was probably the wrong time of year to see the waterfalls.
Apparently the spring water in Nymfes is great for drinking.

Pete, lovely photos as always! We stumbled across the "waterfall" at Nymfes once in the heat of the summer and there wasnt even a trickle! I agree about Kassiopi - its a very pleasant walk around the harbour and headland - but having done this many times in high summer and once in October - we find it preferable and easier when its not scorchio!
regards, Kath.

Hi Pete The pictures are truly spectacular and gives us all a vision of what life is like in Corfu after all the visitors have departed. It must be a fabulous feeling being there right now glad your both enjoying.
